The illusion that the Jazz are just need to get rid of CJ and AL to become a powerhouse is laughable at best.

Seriously, does anyone actually believe this, or that we are one trade away from contending for the championship? I certainly haven't read much of this, so I'm not sure how you've reached this conclusion. This strikes me as a straw man argument.

If I may take a shot at accurately characterizing the arguments here, it is this. If the goal is to be a contender in the FUTURE, we are more likely to get there by developing a core of young talent by giving them playing time now and allowing them to learn on the job than we are by allocating the bulk of playing time to a core of veterans who have no chance of making us championship contenders, either now or in the future.

There is of course a middle ground in which we still try to win in the present by giving veterans a share of playing time but also giving the younger core enough playing time to allow them to develop.

The difficulty with the middle ground, however, is that there are so many vetrans who either deserve, or believer that they deserve, a large share of playing time that to reduce their time threatens locker room disharmony and instability, which in turn harms team performance as well as the development of the younger players.

In my view, Corbin is trying the middle approach, but has allowed the pendulum to swing too far in favor of the veterans. Also, I agree that Jefferson and Milsap have legitimate rights to complain if they're playing time is cut. They are proven performers who continue to play consistently at reasonably high levels. Bell, Howard, and Miles, on the other hand, have no right to complain. Their productive days are either long past or are too inconsistent. I am annoyed to no end of the extent to which Corbin and Jazz management appear to defer to Bell. Let the the guy whine; he just plain sucks. He brings nothing to the table that we can't get from Hayward or Burks or even Howard. Plant his *** firmly on the bench.

I'm convinced that to move forward with developing our young core, we need to get rid of the following: Bell, Miles, and either Milsap or Jefferson (but not both). Replace them with someone who knows his place in the pecking order and who isn't going to whine and ruin team chemistry if he doesn't get the playing time he (erroneously) feels he deserves.

I'm calling ******** on this line of thinking. Yes, we can all talk big and say we want to see the youngins get the majority of the minutes, even if we win 5 more games this season. No ****ing way this board, let alone the rest of the fan base, will stand for this and Ty would certainly lose his job. Can you imagine what that kind of losing would do to the players, the locker room environment, and fan attendance at games? It would plummet, Ty would get fired (he would not put himself in a position to lose his job), and the losing would transfer over to next year. WE DON'T HAVE A SUPERSTAR. WE ARE NOT OKC. GET THE **** OVER IT.

Some of you talk big like you don;t care if this team wins or not. But judging by this boards weeping and crying after losses I can tell you, no one would stand for this.

Na man.

You might be right on 80% of us, but personally, I truly want(ed) KOC to blow this bitch up 18-20 games ago in search of a #1 pick. I don't want Ty to play trash trying to lose but I did want KOC to make it as hard on Ty to win as possible by trading Harris and Black Hole.

The Four (HT Numberica) + Watson sucked a messican donkey show but I didn't give one single damn. Play 'em and lose and keep Ty and pick the top pick and build something to get truly excited about. Truly excited is the key phrase.

You're like the tea party of the team rebuild. ****.

****. Seriously? ****?

.....

Give me one good reason not to aside from the losing mentality concept. That's about the only anchor keeping the Jazz in the winning mindset.

Oh, I forget, they'll have gobs of money in 2013 and Paradise USA is going to fill with All-Stars on max contracts. Might as well re-sign Devin ****ing Harris to a max term extension tomorrow.

If I was KOC I would stand pat with the big contracts (Jefferson, Harris, Millsap) as they all become expiring next year which makes them way more valuable. However, I would definitely be giving the Clippers a ring to see if either CJ/Bell/Howard (in that order) + maybe a 2nd rounder would get us Eric Bledsoe.

Something like this https://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7onuugg with us also giving up a 2nd rounder.

They have a $4.3mm TPE from Bass.

Give said the little stream
Give oh give

Give your Chucker Miles away

If I could +18 you, I probably would. Cute, accurate, and charming all at the same time. Well done frankLIN.

What if Ty Corbin came out to the media and said that this was his plan? I bet if we all did a facebook post about this, you'd get near 100% positive response. And who said that the team would fall apart and only win 5 more games this year? For all we know, they'd go on a tear and get us into the playoffs.

That's ****ing retarded.

I dunno man, that big white stiff would fit in nicely here. And it would be kinda fun to watch Jackson implode on himself after his first 24 hours of living in Utah.

Don't you worry. We'll lose regardless. If we make the playoffs I'll be a little bummed, but stoked to watch some Jazz games. I think we all want some lottery action this year, but I'm not going to worry unless GSW actually trades Monta.

-You always try to win.
-Anyone that isn't imparting their wisdom, playing the right way (looking to make the right pass as much as anything, playing tough and smart defense) and won't be on the team in 5 years should be on the block (but not traded at all costs).
-Kanter and Favors not only need more minutes, but they DESERVE them. Al and Millsap don't need to play 38 minutes a game.
-CJ Miles needs to be traded. Benching him destroys any value and confidence he might have and he's not a long term piece. Burks needs to and deserves to play. Trade Miles.

Wins or losses now are honestly secondary to me. It's about the future primarily, but that doesn't mean the present needs to be sacrificed or disregarded entirely.

Rename them the Utah Tulipz then because they'll pop up in the playoffs perennially and disappear right back into the ground.
