What's new

9 out of the 15 players on the roster are shooting career lows from the field.....

Last year Corbin didn't have time to change Jerry's offense due to the shortened season/lockout.

This year he has finally put his touch on the offense, and it hasn't exactly been the midas touch. I understand wanting to open up the offense and take more 3's, but you have to do it within an offense. We need a better coach and a better system. I feel like we actually have enough pieces to be a really good team.

I've actually always thought if Ty could just adapt most of Jerry's offensive scheme which usually was very good and just add the 3 point shot more often we'd be great. Of course Jerry was able to work with Stockton/Deron to run those offenses so we'd need a guy from that mold. Even if we had it though it looks more and more like Ty would be confused exactly how to use him.

-Burks: Not playing and is still adjusting to the NBA game which is entirely different from what he did in college

-Evans: Not playing and diddn't have Earl to lob it to him when he did

-Favors: Probably trying more difficult shots as he expands his game. (15 footers and the like) Also he's being scouted more.

-Foye: Learning a new system takes some time and throws your game off.

-Hayward: He's probably being scouted a lot more than he was before.

-Jefferson: He's passing out now more than he was before, though some would say that should improve his shot. Still, changing ones game can mess things up some.

-Kanter: Definately being scouted more now, and he's shooting mid ranje jumpers now too.

-Millsap: Can't answer this one other than trying to learn the 3 and maybe looking for number 1 too much.

-Tinsley: Old.

I think the low percentages are because of the offense(...errr the lack offense) that the Jazz are running this year. The Jazz look like they have no clue what they are trying to do on offense. I thought our offense looked more organized last year.

....or it is due to practicing dunks instead of shooting....just like the rest of the NBA teams!

Too make it even better, I came within two feet of Millsap today in the human world. I'm high on jazz life ever since ( shameless homer & one upper noted).

I respect your input a lot but can't wrap my mind around your constant m.o. aimed toward TyCo. Are there any actual specifics you'd like to see changed? The way I see it is the masses don't understand how hard the flex read-react is to implement, especially with zero continuity & no superior players. If Corbin has been The Chosen One to carry on the Sloan system then failure is on a nostalgic ownership. Corbin has most likely been shaking his head with the rest of us at how the players have responded.

I could say a million things. The flex cuts never produce a shot so they're just convoluted ways to establish the post. When we do get in the post we're at 15 seconds. And once we're in the post we have no cutters. Ever. It's an ISO every time with only a single outlet pass while the other 3 guys are stationary on the opposite side.

Our half court offense is YMCA simplistic. The offense is bad enough when the first sets don't work, it's hopeless when it has to reset. Ty is in over his head. He's not a Carlysle. He can't coach at this level. And it's showing night after night.

Ty had his off-season. How many more threes is Tinsley going to hit the rest of the year and save our poor offense? Why do you think Foye gets so many minutes? Because Tys praying he will make it rain from 3 land because Ty has absolutely no idea how to run an offense or a decent defense for that matter. Why do you think there is such a relation between our 3 pt shooting between our wins and losses?

Hey guess what.

There is a relationship for every single team in the NBA between 3pt shooting and wins.

You're kidding right?

Average team at best. No star player. ****ty backup PGs who stall the offense repeatedly with their pisspoor shots, and a bunch of youngin's who might turn into something. That's not a really good team.
