A Place for Conservatives

So we have established that simply being a senator is not a reliable bar for knowing what you’re talking about.

So why did you take that stance?

Senator Crenshaw is someone that I trust to do what is best for America. He hears the discussions and debates going on and reports on them. Senator Harris' opinion has not been one I have trusted so I would have to hear what she says to make a decision on it. Pretty simple Stoked.

So it’s not that he’s a senator it’s that he has positions you agree with. Then why not just say that?

Whatever lol

Because he is both. How hard is this to understand?

It's not the biggest deal in the world, but @Stoked was pointing out the logical flaw in your argument. You really can't escape it. But it's no big deal. You like Crenshaw because of his positions. You do not like Harris because of her positions. Nothing wrong with that. But, your original claim that Crenshaw knew what he was talking about because he was a senator forces the logical conclusion that Harris too must know what she's talking about because she's a senator. Logic is logic.

Works like this:

Senators actually know what they are talking about.
Crenshaw is a senator.
Harris is a senator.
Therefore, both Crenshaw and Harris actually know what they are talking about.

Senator Crenshaw. He's a Senator so he actually knows what he's talking about.

This is something I don't understand. I believe a country is only as strong as its borders. There are so many that want open borders while I'm like, yeah, there's already too many ****ing people.

Over population is a bigger issue than talked about.

Who wants an open border? I've not heard that from anyone. I'm sure there are some extreme people, I guess. I've yet to hear any politician claim that's what they wanted.

The only thing I've heard is people on the right lying and claiming that's what their opponents want.

I mean, you can say it's a lie, but I've heard lots of people say it from the left so.

Like my sister, my neighbor, my coworkers, people on Facebook, the list goes on.

I certainly don't think everyone on the left wants open borders, but again, I'm surprised by how many are vocal about it.

Fair enough. I haven't seen or heard anyone. But after looking at polling numbers there seems to be about 15% of people that support open borders. Although I'm curious what people's definition would be.

There still are no politicians that have open borders in their platform or pushing for it. That's more what I meant people were lying about. Both parties prey on fear and lie to make the other side sound worse. That's why we have such extreme party followers.

It's insane to me that anyone believes one party is completely right and the other is completely wrong. It's pretty safe to say anyone who thinks that has succomb to one of the parties propaganda.

Personally I won't vote for a republican due to their official platforms stance on gay people that is sickening to me. It's a big enough deal to me to not vote for them even though I after with about the same number of things as the Democrat party. I do vote libertarian candidate a lot of they aren't a wacko. That's a 50/50 toss up though. Wish that party get get it's act together and try and be reasonable and somewhat mainstream. They need to compromise on a few things.
