Al seems to at least try some time, which is more than I can say for Boozer.

Al is even slower than Boozer rotating, but he's a better one on one post defender and a pretty good shot blocker. Booze couldn't block a shot any more than Shaq could knock down a three.

Neither are good on D, but due to Al simply being taller and bigger, I think he has more impact on defense. However, that is not saying much.

A related question: why do the Jazz put up with such sucky defense? And with Big Al, it is even more of an issue, as he plays C and is paired with an undersized PF, Milsap. If championships are won with D, basic winning must be done with D. So how can you expect to win consistently when the core of your D, the center = Big Al, sucks at D?

A very honest answer, Boozer is far worse, IMO. Of course, Al haters can 'prove' its Al. Subjectivity is great for us all.
