CSKA says Ex-Jazz's Kirilenko could be out until January; agent unaware of development

Former Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko could be out until January, according to a report on CSKA Moscow's website.

Kirilenko broke his nose and injured his left shoulder Nov. 19 while playing for CSKA.

The team said Monday additional tests showed "contusion changes in the muscles and ligaments of the left shoulder [that] will require long-term therapeutic measures." An extended rehabilitation period will be required, according to the team, and Kirilenko is expected to miss CSKA's remaining games through 2011.
"I know nothing about it," agent Marc Fleisher told The Salt Lake Tribune. "Andrei told me yesterday or the day before … the doctors just wanted to give his broken nose another four or five days to recover and he was going to wear a mask. Nothing about his shoulder hurting. Nothing about anything like that."
Fleisher previously said Monday that Kirilenko will weigh returning to the NBA as an unrestricted free agent versus remaining in Russia to play with CSKA.

Wow. The last thing he needed was a more crooked nose.

AK will not play again in the NBA. He has found his home. I wish him luck and a speedy recovery.

Uuug, watched the video of him falling. Man, the sound of his head hitting the floor is brutal. Unfortunate time for this to happen. I doubt he's with the Jazz by Dec 25.

After all the negative things Greg has said about him...questioning his attitude, his recovery from past injuries, etc., how can anyone really think he'll be back?

He's "supposed" to be back by January. Somewhat subjective when talking about Kirilenko.....is that January 2012?? This supposed January date is certainly up for debate, considering you couldn't come back because there may be some stiffness, swelling, irritation? May need to play a game then sit out for the next 10 just to evaluate the aforementioned subsymptoms.

Moving on...nothing to see here.

I read some article in the tribune that said the injury isn't serious and it is just a bone bruise. AK said he would be playing again in 10 days.
