AK Will Give Utah First Chance

Forget about the huge contract he whined about then all he proceeded to do is play video games and read books instead of improving his body and game
.

IF you can prove this allegation, and not just from unfounded rumors then i will mend my ways , apologize to you personally, and anyone else who i seem to have offended. I would willingly admit to being wrong. But, i don't believe you can really show any of that statement to be true. You are just repeating things you have heard from nebulous sources. But i am willing to accept proof that i am and have been mistaken. The ball is in your court.

As i pointed out his "declining" stats were still better than all but two players on the team now. His all around game would be wanted by many teams. Apparently you are unwilling to accept his reasons for staying in Russia this season. You paint him as a greedy player who cares only about money. Then why is it "reliably" reported that all the money from his contract with his present team in Russia being donated to charity. Strange thing for a greedy person to do.

This then is the challenge. You come up with a source for this comment, a reliable source, that would be accepted by a reasonable person. What is a reliable source? I suggest we let the other members of this board decide if you have proved your point or not.

No.

Just.

No.

We've got good chemistry and a good rotation right now. We don't need a spoiled, weak, crybaby vet to screw things up and take PT away from the future. Play GH and AB 48 minutes before giving AK 1.

Go back to Russia!

Proving his whinning would be easy. There are numerous articles on that. I think you are right on books and video gaming affecting his play. Unprovable.

As for AK on this team. Well not this year. It was good while it lasted but I hope he finds something more his style. This condensed schedule would kill him with injuries. You think he had back spams and what not before...

finally. phew. Where the hell ya been, braugh? F'n A, I was holding my breath waiting for you to say the same goddamn thing you always say.

You would have been an awesome disciple of Jesus... always on message. Good news!

Why do you people always include the "crybaby" thing in your posts. Does the fact that Andrei shed tears in public threaten your own masculinity in some way, or is it a way to show the world the world you are better than that. That seems to me to be a pathetic pathology. Weak! I guess we are to assume that you are somehow stronger, tougher than that "Russian". You seem to have more hangups than a clothes closet. I also doubt you are "thrilling" in any way. For myself i am a Grandpa (truth in advertising).

By the way.......nice visual aid.

I think you are reading way to much into it. I want a mentally tough person on my team. Also you go from "you people" to singling out Thriller in the same post. You replying to all of us or just him?

Jeez, this is just like when you break up with the hot girlfriend because she has a serious mental problem, and start dating someone else, maybe not as hot, but sane. Then the hot girl calls you on your cell while you are on a date with your new nice girl and tries to get back wit' you. Who do you choose, Ak or Hayward/

Oh, BTW:
Seriously, I don't care what the Millers pay him, its their money
So how much do we pay for tickets to the arena? Or how much do I pay for my Dish bill? The day that we forget that we are paying the players is the day the team leaves the state.

You could actually choose both in this case. Miles and Howard could be gone and who knows we may amnesty Bell next year. Obviously need another wing for next year. Also it helps that AK can play the 4. Of course as others have said a lot will depend on his salary demands.

I liked Kirilenko.
If he still has his athleticism, I hope signs in spring 2014 to be the final piece putting Utah over the top for its first championship ever.

I think Coach Phil's comments about AK a couple of weeks ago was the death blow for any real hope of Kirilenko coming back to Utah.

I'm not sure if Phil Johnson is paid by The Jazz Organization or by Root Sports; but when someone with intimate knowledge of what went on behind closed doors says during a Jazz telecast that AK essentially had been dogging it for the last 6 or 7 years, then how do you pick that guy back up?

We need shooter more than what an older AK brings to the table. Do we really need another zone unbuster?

You right. In your own vernacular instead of you people (figured they would be able to identify themselves) i should of wrote "all you haters". I do reserve the right to respond to any individual poster as well as the board in general, as all of us do in a single post. You'r reaching!

If Phil Johnson made that statement (i didn't hear it) then Ak's possibility of playing here again is nil, and that would be o.k. with me for sure. Phil has a lot of integrity in my book and if he said that, it is very Damning. Can anyone corroborate hearing this?

I'm afraid i tune out the talking heads all the time. Phil and Boone i tend to listen to.

I would like to say this Gojazz79, nobody has a career in the NBA if they are not mentally tough. The capacity of NBA players to be "mentally tough" always amazes me. I could not put really bad performances behind me without doubting myself. See Hayward and Harris, yet they won't quit, i admire them for that. I could have not put my body through the rigors of an NBA season, mentally or physically.

Not trying to. Just wanting to know if you are including me in the "Haters" so I know whether to respond.

I wasn't offended just annoyed. The fact that you want me to offer you proof only demonstrates how close-minded you are. If you haven't see it or don't have a link you just assume that someone else doesn't know what they are talking about. What is a reliable source? Why don't you provide me with a reliable source stating that AK didn't want a Max contract? Did I say that AK was greedy? I said he was lazy and if you had heard the Phil Johnson interview you would have know its true. I simply suspected it because of the fact that AK never really got better and comments from DW about him leaving practice early.

I don't know how long you have been a Jazz fan and even if you were one when AK signed his MAX contract but I was so I remember the circumstances just fine. Did he cry about getting it? NO but he did state that he felt like he deserved Paul Gasol money. From the many Deseret News/Salt Lake Tribune articles I read, there was reluctance to give him the Max but in the end Larry H. Miller gave him the MAX after getting AK's promise that he would work hard and earn it. Unfortunately, AK never kept his promise.

As far as crying being a sign of weakness, I actually agree with you. I think it is not a sign of weakness depending on the circumstances. If you cry to get your way then it is a weakness and annoying. If you cry because you care so much about something or you are touched by something then it shows you are human. I cried like a baby when my daughter was born. I've cried in Forrest Gump. I could go on. What AK crying showed was that he was a selfish teammate, he cared more about his role than about the team winning. Besides the fact he quit on the team when the going got tough in the WCF.

As far as giving all his Russia contract to charity, good for him. I never said AK was a bad person. I don't know him neither does anyone else so I try not to judge the person AK but as a fan I hold the right to make judgements on his effort and performance. I had only wished AK would have gotten better so he could have been the man but he wasn't mentally strong enough to do so.

GrandpaJazz, I don't have a real problem with you liking AK, I just wish more people would be objective about the overall career of AK. Great international player and overall average NBA player. Yes, when he played he was exciting but still flawed player. Besides the fact that pinning for his return has really little chance of happening if AK is demanding $8 or $9 million year. I would rather re-sign Howard(he plays hard) or just play the drafted SF that Jazz will get when the draft ends.

I don't know how long you have been a Jazz fan
Have been a Jazz fan from the day they moved to Salt Lake. Even though we lived in Idaho at the time. Actually their being here played a part in returning to Utah.

I wasn't offended just annoyed. The fact that you want me to offer you proof only demonstrates how close-minded you are.

As far as being close minded, it honestly seems to me that anyone who lays down as fact that someone they don't know does not excel at their job due to lack of effort should bear the burden of proof. If we can all go around dissing people without certain knowledge they deserve it, they would be the one with the closed mind. If what "Candrew" posted can be shown to be true that would make me backpedal a mile. I would be willing to say i was wrong. How is that close minded? By the way if Phil said that, i believe that strongly indicates he is being paid by "Root sports" and not the Jazz organization.

I just wish more people would be objective about the overall career of AK. Great international player and overall average NBA player.

I don't know that i would go so far as to say he is a "great" international player and would agree that he was not a great NBA player. Just that, even his last season as a Jazzman he was better than all but two of our present roster. Rather he was a unique player and misunderstood by many fans. He "improved" to the point he became an all-star, then he started to disappoint (expectations were too high perhaps). I have not been pining for his return. Completely agree, that is most certainly not going to happen. Andrei has a "Ichabod Crane" looking body, talked with an accent had an unusual personality and was being paid more than he was worth. A prescription for ridicule. And he got plenty. Unfortunately he was a sensitive type (my opinion) and i believe this bothered him greatly. And contributed to his problems on the court. To say that Howard plays "harder" amazes me. At times he was so animated on the floor (AK) he looked like the energizer bunny gone haywire.

Lets bury this hatchet in the stump where it belongs, and go on about our business of being fans of the Utah Jazz. No hard feelings here, and you seem like a decent guy.

Anyone hear what "Candrew" did? Not that i don't believe him/her/weezy but one persons interpretation of what they hear has been known to be inaccurate.

Gojazz79, never called anyone a hater, much less you. I said maybe that was what i should of used instead of "you people". Just trying to be up to date. That many people "hate" Kirilenko seems to me to be obvious, but then it's hard to find any public figure that does not get that treatment. There is so much hate in our society today you can almost taste it. Polarized thinking. We good, you bad!! Look at Jimmer, Tebow etc.

Nah, the ship has sailed. We need to either draft one of the big three SFs or sign a young guy that's fits into our core (Batum?)
