What's new

Al Jefferson is heading to Charlotte on three-year deal $41 million

Good for him, hope it goes well. Thanks for the years, and sorry people are stupid haters lol.
Better for him and for SURE better for the Jazz. Youth time, Corbin cant mess it up if we also dump that sap.

Bobcats have a lot of bigs on the roster now, not that I know the exact contract situation or the interest of them leaving or staying of all of them.

Bismack Biyombo C
DeSagana Diop (FA) C
Josh McRoberts (FA) F
Byron Mullens (FA) F-C
Tyrus Thomas F
Cody Zeller C

The only one that might be available that I would like to see on the Jazz is Byron Mullens, the few games he played against the Jazz he seemed to have a nice jump shot and can play both the 4 & 5.

Lol, DeSagana Diop. Probably the worst big in the Nba

Tyrus Thomas was amnestied to make room for Al Jefferson.

Man that guy sucks and got worse and worse every year.

Ah didn't realize that, thanks. Also yes he never even came close to living up to his hype or his draft pick#. Bet the Bulls wish they kept Aldridge and not traded/swapped picks with Portland for Thomas.

Ya they purposely let go of McRoberts & Mullens so they did not extend the qualifying offer to them.

Diop won't be back for sure.

So really they will have Jefferson, Bismack Biyombo, Haywood, & Cody Zeller now. Not a bad rotation for how horrible they were last year lol.

2 years guaranteed. Bobcats this year, the name changes to Hornets the next year.

Aw, then clever post. I admit I was thinking Brooklyn...what does Brooklyn have to do with this? So 3 years at $41M isn't exactly what Al had expected. And no opportunity really for a S&T. But FANTASTIC that Charlotte has now used up a chunk of their cap space. Keep spending, teams, KEEP SPENDING!

Al shows you his priorities signing with the lolcats. Al and Cody Zeller on defense will be giving up 120 points a night.

This is great news! No more watching him have the ball doing shot fakes for most of the shot clock while the rest of the team stands around watching. Even if the Jazz have a poor record next season, they should at least be more entertaining to watch.

While I am happy that AL got a new contract with another team, I don't get all the hate for AL. He only had good things to say about being in Utah, he was a mentor to Kanter, he improved his passing and played hard for the most part. Yea his defense sucked and he slowed down the offense. He wasn't a good fit but that doesn't make him a bad person. However, people make it sound like he kill their dog. Some Jazz fans are probably going to boo him when he comes back. And you wonder why people think Jazz fans can be jerks.. I wish AL all the best and hope he helps Bobcats turn around a badly run franchise (which would only benefit the Jazz in the draft). The Jazz are going to miss his scoring and the leader he was.

^^Agree with most of what you said, cowhide. Al was not a good fit, but he's a great guy. If I were in the stands when Charlotte plays, I'd give Al a standing "O." He was a class act when he was here and honestly did try to improve his game. Spent two years training his replacement - and he knew it! That has to be tough. Corbin should have spread the offense around more; that was Ty's fault. And I honestly believe Al's lack of defense were due to slow reaction time and a lack of understanding, not because he was lazy and didn't try. I don't think he was really viewed as a leader, nor do I think the Jazz will miss his offense. When Al missed games before, it just resulted in more ball movement and better balance. But I wish Al all the best. I'm sure he was hurting, but he handled his departure like a gentleman, leaving SLC quietly and without saying anything bad about the organization. It's tough to do that when an organization tells you you're no longer wanted.

Thanks for your time here and I wish you the best of luck.

Having said that, **** yeah!!!
