What's new

Alex Caruso

He'd be better than Conley. We'd be battling the Lakers right now if we had spent Ed Davis money on Caruso and kept Jae Crowder. And oh yeah, we'd still have Korver, Grayson and whoever we selected at #23.
No.

Jae Crowder was shooting 37% from the field and 29% from 3 in 45 games.

The dude has been running a hot streak in Miami. That's the kind of player he is. He's complete *** most of the time, but hot every now and then.

This board has turned into people who are becoming way too reactionary.

"Oh this guy is doing good right now. WE SHOULD GET HIM!"

"Oh this player on our team started the year bad. HE SUCKS *** GET HIM OFF THE TEAM THIS SCRUB WOULD BE BETTER!"

Not the point Cy.

Caruso vs Conley is a valid argument. Sure, Conley has the edge, but Caruso wouldn't have cost us all those assets (Crowder, Grayson, 2 1sts). And Caruso plays, active, good, hard defense.

Crowder would have been playing unlike Green and Davis who were brought in to help with some of his minutes. I don't think Crowder is some super human player, but he would have played a massive role for us against Denver. We needed another SF/PF which we lost to get Conley.

Its true a guard that has solid size, that gets steals, deflections, and plays solid perimeter defense would not work well. That energy wouldn't work here.

He's a huge negative on offense and overrated on defense. Yes, when you have a team with Lebron and Davis, it's not a huge deal.

And Conley and Caruso are essentially the same size. Conly got a longer wingspan and is within an inch of the same standing reach.

Mike Conley just put up a 9.2 BPM in a playoff series and we got morons saying Caruso > Conley. This board is an embarrassment.

Once again Cy, it's not Conley vs Caruso.

It's Conley

Caruso
Crowder
Grayson
Korver

Now do you get it? The Conley trade was stupid.

Ain't saying Mike is worse than Bald Mamba... I'd love to have both. Just think saying he wouldn't fit is silly. I don't care what the measurements are... I know that AC gets 4 deflections per 36 to Mike's 1.6. So not all similar sized guys play the same size.

I know that his team has been significantly better with him on the court than off it... in the playoffs and in the regular season. In fact he was second in the on/off net rating only behind Lebron in the regular season. His shooting has fallen off in the bubble, but he doesn't have to shoot well to impact the game. We need guys that impact the game in other ways.

This ain't some bottom feeder team... the Lakers have been very good and AC is a valuable contributor to that. He would be just fine here.

Rayjon Tucker is likely better than Caruso.

Cy is bored and just trying to ruffle feathers

I love when people post this and act like we traded so many assets.

People like the idea of Crowder but when he plays for your team and shoots 29% from 3 in 45 games it wears off quickly.

Am I supposed to be mad or sad that we traded Allen and Korver? Or the first round pick who wouldn’t have seen much playing time?

I would still do that same exact trade today knowing what we know now.

Sure Jae has been hot for a minute, but just fluke timing because there is a 25 game stretch where he will shoot 20% and will be borderline unplayable.

The Conley trade will go down as the worst trade in team history.

We were a better team this season when he didn't even play. We consistently got worse in the 7 game series when he played.

I like Conley the person and I even like Conley the player, but he doesn't fit here. He takes the ball out of Don's hands, and he can't guard anybody good.

Yeah, way worse than trading Magic Johnson for cash.
