What's new

All is well

For the record, I believe WW III has been going on since atleast 2014, maybe since 2008. Libya, Egypt, Georgia and Ukraine have been the battlefields. .

None of those countries are at war.

I don't like any of the candidates. That said, I don't believe they are members of a secret society with plans to enslave humanity. If they are trying to get ahead or gain themselves advantages, well, that is what humans do. It isn't surprising and it isn't an indication we've all been had.

Secret societies figure only in the most obscure theories. For the record, the term "conspiracy theory" and it's derivatives have become a rhetorical tool used by statists. . . .that is the out in the open managerial class government employees and elected officials as a personal attack to evade actual discussions of established government policy, adopted UN policies and programs, and a lot of other stuff most people wouldn't understand and maybe wouldn't accept.

However, that statist nut job Hillary believes there is "vast rightwi g conspiracy" working to steal her presidential entitlement program from her.

However, of all the candidates, she is the lucid and realistic. What other candidate can boast a movie based on her, the Reese Witherspoon portrayal of her in Election/I]?

None?

Assuming you're talking to me, MAYBE Libya counts as being in an actual state of civil war. Nonetheless, the comment was pretty silly and baseless. Why pick that random sample? Why not since the Bosnian-Serbian war? Why not since Vietnam? Why not since the end of the second World War?

I was responding to babe, he was wondering if any other candidate had a movie made about them. He's said he thinks the movie "election" is about Hillary.

Oh, okay. I wasn't talking to you either in that case.

It's a pretty far fetched theory though...

This was in the news, mainstream, on all the major news. We were told that Trump and Hillary were on speaking terms and that Trump told Hillary he was going to run.

Game and Siro don't believe Human beings who flock together have any I tent to fly together.

Trump will lose nothing but some disposable money for running. if he wins he will still be on speaking terms with Hillary, who knows, maybe she will be appointed head of theState Department.

Rubio just has to try harder to get in the game. He will be careful not to step on big toes though.

Like I said, I'm in. We have the leaders our money want. That's good enough for me.

You've misstated my beliefs

We all know that birds flop together only to carry out a worldwide statist conspiracy to take away your freedom. Duh! You know, the same reason everything else happens.

For the record, I could see a World War III breaking out if Trump does somehow become the next President... LOL

I actually think the U.S will be less likely to go to war, at least if he does what he says. In the last debate he said he'd prefer to put the trillion we have spent on war in the past x years on our education and infrastructure as well. I really do not like him, but do not like any republican candidate. I have similar feelings regarding Hillary, although I liked Bill Clinton a lot.

I mentioned it because Babe, a conspiracy enthusiast, mentions it in his post.

I am not the conspiracy enthusiast that you are. I'm a new convert to your fondest hopes for mankind. . .a far far better world expertly managed by the professional managerial class, the utopian bureaucracy you love so much.

Why should we just let stupid people vote for shameless incompetents who believe in stuff like the Sky Daddy and human rights?

The materialists have real plans based on infallible science that no intelligent person will dare question. Based on government financed and directed studies. The plans so developed, of course, might not be immediately popular, so we have to school the kiddies with the language they are willing to support, while we do what must be done, for the good of all.

I'm on your team now, Siro. I'm with you. I'm all in.

If you want to go on calling me a conspiracy enthusiast, I am no more enthusiastic about this plan than you are.

He has been friendly with the Clintons and donated money to their campaigns.

The conspiracy theory, as I understand it, was that he joined the race on the R side to muddy the waters and put the republican ticket in disarray. By the time there is a nominee they will be playing catchup to Hillary. If the nominee is Trump then it's a guaranteed win for Hillary. If it's Rubio or Cruz we'll only just start getting to know them as all the attention has been on Trump.

.... except Muslims immigrants.

As too frequently is the case, you mistake rhetoric for substance. Trump is getting along, right now, with the conservative base of the R party. Once elected, he will get along with who then needs getting along with, which will not be the conservative base of the R party.

Frankly, I don't see any astute businessman decimating his customer base. Do you realize how much $$$$ comes to the US from immigrants of all kinds? Well, if they're not loaded with cash, they still have hands and can change the sheets in the resort hotels, and do other work profitable to business. That's the bottom line.

I could count the number of Babe posts that I truly believe I understand on no fingers. Either he is many, many times smarter than me, or he is crazy.

I called him a conspiracy enthusiast. He counters that I'm the enthusiast, because the real conspiracy is being perpetrated by Clinton and others in what is usually referred to as the New World Order. The rest is sarcastically mocking my confidence in science and its ability to solve our problems and improve our lives. He then implies that in reality, this materialist approach is a cynical plot to direct the world to continue to benefit the elite, while suppressing dissent from the freedom-loving, god-fearing, inherent-human-rights-believing, patriots like Babe.

Babe isn't that hard to understand if you're familiar with his beliefs.

The UN array of programs, goals, objectives. . . the "New World Order" can hardly be called a conspiracy, because it's all written down in public documents which millions of people accept as the right way to go in managing planet earth.

It's only a "conspiracy" in the eyes of ignoramuses who know nothing about it. However, the media doesn't discuss it much, and a lot of conservatives are ignoramuses, for sure.

We truly enlightened souls who have joined the great quest for the better world must necessarily use some discretion in our public expressions, to avoid too much criticism from the great unwashed and uninformed bottomfeeder elements of our society.

Included in that program, since the founding of the UN, is the program to remove all private weapons from the hands of individuals, and specifying the military weaponry to be allowed under the supervision of governance personnel. This official arming of trusted elements of society will keep the military provisioners profitable, and the use of those weapons in an endless succession of "Bowery Wars", conducted with supervision from the highest echelons of the most important and wisest of mankind, will help to keep human population under appropriate control, and might possibly avert the necessity of Prince Philip, the Queen's Consort, being reincarnated as a deadly plague to nobly serve the great cause of reducing human population to the sustainable level of about 500 million worldwide.

And when these goals are achieved, there will be vast corridors of primeval wilderness teeming with abundant wildlife, and a flourishing Royal Hunting concession, which I intend to supervise.

It will be wonderful. I couldn't imagine a better world for our future.

philosophers who have achieved some recognition if not followings on the college level have gone after the foundations of human societies. . . . critically as well as empirically. . .

Ambrose Bierce defined "liberty" as freedom from restraint in a handful of modes of thought, fashion, or conduct while being held to rigid compliance in innumerable social, legal, or intellectual conventions. We're pretty happy with our little calling cards that announce how good we are. We're such conformists at heart. Compliance is a wonderful thing, it allows us to justify what we have done, to live above criticism, to claim respect and honor. . .

Our American founders wrestled with the issue, and found God a convenient claim for higher authority than the King of England. Today's conservatives resort to "God" in a similar vein, claiming "God" is a higher authority than the government. But the basic idea is the same. We want to comply with a standard of authority. We want to be compliant, "good", by some understandable measurement.

Siro, you use "Science" as a placeholder in your life, to fill that exact same place, to fill that basic human drive. Science is your God, your government. You're no better than the most rudimentary hayseed in the hills of Tennessee. You need to be compliant, just like the rest of us. It's only a matter of rhetorical design, an imaginary virtue, however you label it.

But hey, when there is a real force afoot on the earth, people vested with real power to throw the noncompliants into the hoosegawh, I'm with the guvmint. All in.
