Damn! Thought for sure that I'd end up with one of Karl Malone, David Robinson or Scottie Pippen at #23. I still have some quality guys on my list. . . but my 2nd tier is almost completely tapped at this point.

I'm just waiting for Hack to break my damn heart. I have one Tier 1 player from my board left and I'm worried that he's as good as gone.

This is EXACTLY why I picked Pippen at #19. I had trade offers that would have put me past your pick and I would have missed out on him.
I really like Pippen so I thought, yeah it's a little early, but nah, I'd rather have the guy on my team that I like than miss out.

Flashy teams don't always win the Championship. Who are the "stars" on the Spurs? Look at the Rockets this year flaming out. They have a couple of stars but if they don't buy into team concept then they'll never win a ring.
Give me a boring team, playing defensive grinding out basketball over a team of flashy players that don't gel any day.

I have one player that I had rated higher than Pippen, so you made my choice a lot easier if Hack doesn't take my guy. . . but had Pippen still been there, I'd have been sorely tempted to jump my board and take him instead of hoping he'd fall to 26. I'm still going to get two really good players, but I'd have loved to have Pippen as one of them.
