Yeah but again you've got to look at what casts he had to play with, coaching, etc. Teammates matter when you're considering how far you progress in the playoffs.

Look, I'm not saying Hardaway is better than Magic, I'm simply saying at that when they played Hardaway matched up very well against Magic.

This match to me is decided in the middle with Duncan & Dirk controlling the paint & versatility in scoring.

Fair enough. I love your 4/5 combo. I just hate your bench.

No question Magic is a special player, but as I have shown, in their playoffs series, regardless of the W-L which depends on the teams, Hardaway was able to match Magic punch for punch, scoring more, having the same # of assists and getting a whopping 3 more steals. Even the regular seasons stats that you provide showed that Magic did not dominate Hardaway and that is stretched over a longer period as well.
Bottom line, for all that Magic is known for, the numbers proved that Hardaway is a good match for Magic.

Kyrie and Kevin Love could stuff a stat sheet too, but neither saw even one playoff series until they played with LeBron. Point is saying Hardaway matched Magic (in his last season btw) stat for stat makes him equal in any way to Magic is a joke. I would stick with your front court arguments.

Haha.. ok agree to disagree then.. off the bench just need someone I can throw the ball to and let him go to work (Carmelo, Irving).

BTW - you seem to know quite a bit about this Draft Comp. .. care to join us in the Current draft after this?

I don't much about players before 2000.

I feel like the anti-Lakers bias clouds judgement here. Subjectively speaking, if Jazzfanz voters were being objective, I don't think I would have tied in the first round and wouldn't be losing this round. Spy had a better team than OL, but I'm 4 votes down on OL and tied Spy???

I don't think the voters are bias.. if you look at the other matches Malone lost to Duncan in the previous round, Log's team with Okur and Gobert didn't get a single vote against the Bulls duo of Michael/Pippen. This tells me there isn't a Jazz bias on this board.

I think in this particular match-up they just recognise that Magic won't be as dominant against Hardaway (as backed up by stats), and at the other end the Duncan/Nowitzki duo is simply too dominant against Mourning/Barkley. In the paint is how these 7 game series are won.

I've done these drafts for a few years now and I've come to realise that there are more than a few good basketball minds on this board. At the end of the day I think the voters get it right more often than not.

Its a close matchup, but I cant go past Nowitzki and Duncan- One Loves 4/5s gives him a narrow win the other positions are almost level

One Love's Duncan crush is getting ridiculous. Maybe he keeps him as his secret win all ballots weapon like an MJ effect.

This match to me is decided in the middle with Duncan & Dirk controlling the paint & versatility in scoring.

If it is decided in the middle, Barkley dominates Dirk on the board. I would never describe Dirk as someone who controls the paint. In particular, in this match-up, Dirk will be strictly a long range jump shooter and he will be pushed out anytime he is 10 feet from the basket. And Mourning one of the greatest defensive centers ever can more than hold his own on that side of the ball, plus score about 18-20 on just lobs and offensive rebounds.

This one's like early finals like matchup of two championship contenders. So One Love has a shot at the ring. He was the defending champs right?

Does the fatigue level count? Because One Love's team should be more worn out after this battle. So he should lose next round.
