Philosophy
I've built this team based on the philosophy of defense and quality shooters. Mutumber, Howard, Chandler, Duncan, Pippen, Kidd and Johnson, these are some of the best defenders who have ever played the game. The depth of defensive presence means this team will always fight hard and will always be in the game (never get blown out). Moreover, there are some legit shooters in this team. Reggie Miller is 2nd all time career 3pt made, Jason Kidd is 3nd all time in career 3pters made. Carmelo is a legit scorer. Tim Duncan and Aldridge can drain jumpers.
Your team is build up on the players that have never proved that they are winners without the help of a strong roster or one or more superstars helping them along the way. Mutumber (who the hell is that) is an amazing defender with so little ups against my main centers, Sabonis and A-Train. Do you only know Sabonis from NBA highlights? This guys had the BBIQ of a perfect pointguard to lead his team from the position of center, which a real center/pivot should actually do in this game. He is the perfect guy to outsmart Dikembe, come up oversized against your sweet boy Dwight who is a great potential who just is not a winner and could not meet his destiny in front of our eyes. Sabonis outscores Dwight by at least 10-15 points in a game that the teams go to their centers. You rely on Tyson? The guy is just another bad boy from the hood who gathered himself up to hammer a name to the tree. How reliable and consistent is he against my man Big E on both ends of the floor? You have some good scorers around the inside of the arc, but as for 3 pts, you have little chance to score except for Reggie who you need to make me leave open from my athletic 2/SG squad, the guys who can chase you around the floor 48 minutes if no OT.
Offense will be focus on and flow through Duncan down low, once the defense collapse, there are shooters that will knock down those open 3pointers. Carmelo and Pippen are legit wing scorers and can create their own shot. Jason Kidd is one of the best passers the NBA has ever seen and he will really enjoy playing on this team.
Duncan has a big chance on his place on the court, and he will use his balance to get to the line, but he will have to deal with Sabonis' size down low and get doubled by Kemp from which he will try to pass out being the teammate he is, and this time you will need to find you 3 guy because insiders will be pressured by players like Bron, Dr J, Sam Jones, David Thompson, who will easily reach to any defensive switches in that small distance most of the time.
Point Guard
Jason Kidd is one of the best PG who have ever played the game with #2 All Time Career Assists and #2 All Time Career Steals (2nd only in both categories to John Stockton). Kidd is physically much bigger and would overwhelm Cousy defensively. Dennis Johnson is a bad-*** and defensively limited Magic to 17pts in playoffs series VS Boston he'll contain Archibald no problem whatsoever.
I love Jason but I couldn't have found a better opponent on starter PG spot for Cooz to defend. All I need from Cooz is to stance him around the floor and force him to pass instead of open spot ups which he likes, and this will lead my athletic lay out to perform many steals to lead to transition which is the main thing any opposition of mine would shiver themselves timbers! Archie would slash past him on one on one and transition, and would have a lot of open guys to cut through your Robert Horry's, Chandler's, Aldridge's, I can see them pretty much nauseated from those cuts. I would love to have Drazen against Kidd as well more than any other game's opponent's starting PG, say give him 25 m, because he would outplay him overall and help Nate work more on the tired starters and less paced subs.
Shooting Guard
Reggie Miller is one of the best 3pt shooter the League has ever seen not to mention the most clutch. Off the bench, Brandon Roy is also a highlight reel waiting to happen. Erving is a highlight reel - but the fact is he is a career 29.8% three point shooter! That just won't cut it next to LeBron who is also not a great three point shooter.
Are you kidding me? You are going to leave Dr J out with some 3 pt stats? Stan Van Gundy? Is that you? Dr J would dominate. Calling him a highlight reel and leave his ability to move the defense off their feet around the arc like a magnet out of the discussion is blasphemy, and you put Reggie on him and shut him down?!? Doc would make Reggie taste a some.
Small Forward
Scottie Pippen in his prime is probably the ONLY PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA who will be able to contain LeBron James. Pippen can guard positions 1-4 and will be physically strong and quick enough to contain LeBron's abusive plays. Off the bench Carmelo will 'torch' whoever stands in his way. He is an opponent's nightmare off the bench.
Da Pip's a great defender. Is considered one of the greatest, because of his size, speed, athleticism, and the player he became because of you know who. I'm not gonna talk like a girl and say Scottie called Bron over MJ or smth. I think no one's like MJ when it comes to winning. I wish he would remember that. Because Scottie would have two troubles in the court at least, when Doc and Bron are attacking from both sides. And if Thompson is subbed in for Cooz and I have 3 of'em moving the defense around, watch out for the transition, Scottie, coz you've never seen that kind of an enemy to handle before big boy. And if you don't play Scottie for 40, Horry and Melo will have trouble against my cutters.
Power Forward
Shawn Kemp has his dunks. But let's face it, Tim Duncan will contain him defensively and will DESTROY him offensively with his repertoire of post moves.
I respect Duncan a lot. But he is not the guy to put up with the athletic & strong, REAL power forwards of 90's. He has a great skill set around the paint, and Kemp would have trouble defending his footwork,
but giving me something like this
one right here and saying Duncan will contain him defensively is just acting the blind and wishing for everyone to go blind.
Shawn would run him out, Shawn would jump him out, Shawn would tire him out, and finally out-physic him out. He would score less, but he would keep him busy and demotivated enough to collapse your inside offense.
Tim Duncan also knows how to win with 5 rings already under his belt - Kemp has none.
Gimme a ****ing break. We are counting rings now? Then Duncan should bring along Admiral, Tony, Manu etc. along.
Center
Dikembe Mutumbo (4). Dwight Howard (3). Tyson Chandler (2). Together these guys have accumulated 8 Defensive Player of the Year awards. This is not even a match-up worth mentioning - these guys will shut down Sabonis and Gilmore defensively and then some.
Mutombo cannot Shutdown Sabonis, maybe Gilmore. Dwight cannot stay in front of the two. Chandler does not have the size and the ability to outplay Sabonis. Both Dwight and Tyson will have to play more to aid Dikembe because of the obvious difference of talent in center position, and none of those centers really have any offensive skillset to aid Duncan inside. Big E would complete the two of mine and my team would have a big advantage in bigmen rotation.
^ funny guy right there. I cannot wait him to introduce Sabonis-Artis-Aramis (last one was extra, ok)
Conclusion: Addictionary team's Weakness are:
1) Lack of inside presence offensively and defensively
Kemp and Sabonis just won't be able to score many points inside. Kemp will be contained by Duncan. Sabonis will be contained by Mutumbo, Dwight and Chandler. Offensively Duncan will plow through Kemp like a sieve.
Again, Duncan just cannot leave Kemp open close to the rim. Sabonis is the perfect teamplay center for my game, and he would have to be doubled most of the time, leaving Kemp open for many dimes by Cooz and Nate.
2) Lack of 3pt shooting to spread the floor
LeBron, Erving and Cousy don't have enough 3pt shooting in them to spread the floor which means I can pack the paint with my defensive shot blockers of Mutumbo, Howard and Chandler (8 Defensive Player of the Year Total). LeBron needs 3pt shooters around him to be an effective driver & passer and this team doesn't have any, so he's gonna struggle offensively.
I cannot contain my guys. They just wanna dunk! Can't blame them. Dunks are kinda more high % then 3 pt shots. (jk) I have not built my team around perimeter offense obviously, I prefer transition and physical dominance alongside outsmarting players in unexpected matchups like Arvy. But I do have my guys like Drazen and Arizin to nail long distances.
3) Lack of clutch shooters
LeBron will be asked to do too much again here trying to take the last minute shot when the game's on the line.
My team has a myriad of clutch shooters waiting to pounce. My last minute lineup will include the following players:
C - Tim Duncan
PF - Robert Horry
SF - Carmelo Anthony
SG - Reggie Miller
PG - Brandon Roy
Horry, Anthony, Miller and Roy are 4 of the probably the best 20 clutch players the game has ever seen. These guys have made countless game winners in the past I've lost count. You double up on 1 of these guys, there's at least 3 more waiting to make that shot.
Won't need clutch shots, you will be outscored deeply. But my team is build up on more individual winner capable dudes than yours, a lot of times, my HoF'ers are gonna psyche their matchups out so I don't see the necessity to waste a pick on Robert friggin' Horry for my roster just to nail a cludgjje three. Goddamn Lakers.
My roster is filled with forgotten heroes. I understand you undervalue them. I will hopefully not gone up back from the bed seeing my matchup is up next suddenly and contribute more, and while at it, givin' a break, here is a nice video in the mean time:

Edit: Oh I forgot to tell;
My team will dunk the living **** out of the organization. So even if I get eliminated at some point, we will give you dudes a good time.
