All time NBA draft signup.

I don’t mind running this draft, but if someone else wants to speak up and be my guest

This is my favorite time of year, probably because I love basketball, I love learning about its vast history through the many YouTube vids I go through and living the fantasy of being a gm and building a team I’d pay to see, and the many different conversations and all.

We wouldn’t start till after the finals are over, but would like to get a jump on building up the contestants and getting a lot of participation

I would be interested in doing a variation of this though. @NUMBERICA I feel like Numb had a suggestion last summer on how to do this, but maybe I’m misremembering.

It’s a kind-of intense idea and I do not want to run one of these. I’m also not sure it creates the parity that it would aim to. Modified snake probably does that best.

Here’s an idea though; every team has to draft at least one player drafted in each of:
-‘79 or earlier
-‘80-‘89
-‘90-99
-‘00-‘09
-‘10-current

And I’m in.

I remember his saying something, I just don’t remember what it was. @Wes Mantooth other than myself, I consider you the GOAT at running these. Lol

guys I’d like to see sign up, @Saint Cy of JFC @LoPo those two would have some serious debate. Lol. @fishonjazz @LogGrad98. Tried to @spycam but it doesn’t let me, did he change his name?

Though I have seen drafts modified even more so. But this is the one I’ve seen most often…which almost has to be done since the love for MJ, etc is so top heavy.

And yes, I’ll run this. And I’d love Numb to be in this to have some fresh takes. And I like his idea for eras. We’d have to draft two players from each era he already identified.

I’d prefer to just keep it one player from each era since it kinda splits the difference between people that go in on the ancients and people that don’t care for them at all (while still allowing for era preferences to exist).

And yeah, I think that type of modification is simplest and probably makes as much sense as any other.

An idea I’ve had (if the board has the technology) is to have a vote to determine the top-4 seeds so that there is a better chance that the two best teams matchup in the finals. But also not reveal the results of the seeding round so as to not create a bias in the subsequent matchups. I’ve just noticed that the final is basically never the best two teams by anyone’s assessment and is usually a blowout.

Also, if it’s possible to only allow posters with a minimum post-count (in order to guard against the shenanigans that nickkk probably has been pulling for years) to vote, that would be good.

Do a vote amongst the owners in the draft in someone’s pm.
 
I’d say have eight rounds though. I get it, starters win titles. But teams can lose it with no bench. After each team drafts someone from each era, we then have the chance to draft three bench spots with players from any era.

I think 10 is good. The talent pool is deep, and a couple more players adds to the complexity of strategy for those that are about that (I think it’s interesting and valid, anyway).

I’m good with either. But Numbs idea probably is better with 10 players
 
But ppl must first draft one player from each era first in rounds 1-5, and them draft whoever the hell they want in rounds 6-10, right?

Yeah, I think that’s good. But to be sure: no rounds dedicated to a certain era or decade, just as long as they satisfy the criteria (and again, this is based on the year a player was drafted).
