I would do Crowder for Burks. That's it. The former isn't that good but has some toughness and could become the great perimeter defender we need. I think I would love that trafe actually. Just not a big Burks fan.
That's an interesting trade idea, actually. Both teams could see it as a way to balance out the skill set of their guards. I don't know how interested I am (for me, it might come down to who we draft), but it is worth considering.

I got five pages in and I didn't see my thought posted, so here it is:
Why does Snyder get such a HUGE pass around here?
The problem wasn't injuries, or we would have seen a huge drop off when our players went down. Our problem was the 4th quarter.
That's the beginning and end of it. We suck in the 4th quarter. Yeah, it would be nice to have more talent...but why is our talent so great the first three quarters and then we disappear in the 4th?
We were out coached in the 4th quarter. Other teams made adjustments. We did the same thing we did all game...and fell apart.
I'm not saying we should move on from Snyder, I like the extension. I'd rather they hired Horny mid-season when Corbin was terrible...but that's neither here nor there.
BUT, Snyder needs to get better and get better fast. HE was what held us back last year.

Yep. We fell apart in the 4th quarter. Good call, *******.

FWIW, we were +0.7 in the 1st (8th best), +0.1 in the 2nd (14th), and +0.5 in both the 3rd (7th) and the 4th (10th) resepctively, so yeah...we fell apart...in the 2nd quarter. But keep talkin' out your ***.
The point I want to illustrate is, in aggregate, we had a HUGE volume of losses of this nature - where we had a solid 4th quarter lead or a lead very late. stats.nba.com has clutch stats for every team, which shows, among other things, each team's offensive rating and defensive rating (points scored and allowed per 100 possessions, respectively), in situations where the game was within 5 points with 5 or fewer minutes remaining, Utah's defensive rating was a staggeringly awful 120.6 - good for 27th in the NBA. Their offensive efficiency was 104.8, which was 19th in the NBA.
A note - you'd expect offensive and defensive efficiency ratings to both increase in the clutch because of all the intentional fouling going on. Throughout the entire season, our offensive rating was 15th in the NBA (103.2), and our defensive rating was 7th in the NBA (101.5). So while our offense in the clutch was slightly worse than it was overall (15th to 19th), our defense in the clutch completely dropped off a cliff (7th to 27th).
First of all, what is it with this site? Is is seriously just a bunch of illiterate, six year olds? The childish name calling...is just pathetic. Be better.
What I was alluding to was what the OP brought up:
But yeah, you earned your man card tonight. Way to show the internet how tough you are. Good call.
If you don't like the name-calling, don't post dumb ****. Better yet, leave.
My point exactly. Why are you so butt hurt?
Great point. It was just a ****ed up seasonI only read the first page here and the analysis passes the eye test. Except for one stat that wasn't taken into account here. Amount of apologies the NBA gave out to the Jazz vs our opponents in games that were closer than 5 points in the last 2 minutes. It was pretty clear that the NBA refs didn't appear to have their best games when the Jazz were in close matches either. The list of apologies against us was detailed in a +/- apology report about midseason. There was plenty of data supporting a hack job by the refs. The eye test (for someone who has never rarely if ever suggested the refs blew it) was pretty clear as well. You give us back just 5 of those missed calls at key times in key games and we would have made the playoffs. Add a +/- report of nba apologies in those 16 games and my bet is we are an even -10 or below. OKC would be a clean +12 in their favor. If we can't figure out how to get respect from the refs then next season will be another battle to the end.
