Keep in mind that a) now he's playing a backup role, b) everyone sucked at running that pathetic attempt at a triangle offense in Minnesota (presuming that where he dedicated a lot of his PG minutes at). No one is asking him to start at PG. I'm sure he's good enough at passing in transition, and would make a nice complement to Burks if he can't control most of the duties on his own. He'll be playing against BENCH PGs, I mean c'mon the Pargos and the Norris Coles and the Andrew Goudelocks don't stand a chance. Personally, I think that the Jazz would be stupid not to experiment with him at the 1.

So whats your call? Not play him for a second at the 1 position at ALL this season? I'm not saying theres a good probability that it'll work. I'm just saying that we'd be retards to not give it a whirl. And quite frankly if the Jazz ran a Earl Watson/Ronnie Price frontcourt for the first half of 2011, you can bet your sweet *** and half a tittie that they'll give a combo guard who HAS played at the 1 before, some time to see how he functions when he runs the bench.

i never said don't play him for a second. i said that if he's our solution for second-unit playmaking (or, god forbid, mo's fill-in if he gets injured), we will fail spectacularly to execute any type of offense. the guy has just proven continually that he's not a point. and that's ok - that's not what they got him for. his strengths are what they are, there's no need to invent abilities that he doesn't have.

so sure, if they try him out there, i won't be pissed off. but they damn-well better have a plan B, because history says they're going to need one.

Jazz need a PG that is pass-first and a backup PG that both assists and scores.

Yeh, well we don't have one unless you start Tinsley. I think Watson tries to, but he is so ho hum talent wise it's hard to tell. My bet is that the Jazz will do something strikingly similar to the triangle offence where it's more about sets and less about a star point guard.
