Not sure if that's enough, but it's interesting to think the Jazz could amnesty Jefferson to get Deron back. Problem with reacquiring Deron is signing guys going forward. You'd have to KNOW Favors was going to be a star. Can't imagine we'll be solid enough that a fantastical idea like getting Deron back would even become more realistic.
I don't want Deron back because rarely if ever has a max PG led a team to a title.
See Fisher (definitely not max player), Rondo (was still a rookie contract), Parker (at about $10 million at the time), Chauncey Billups (MVP, but making about $5.5 million at the time).
Jason Kidd was an exception, but Cuban had to overpay (via trade) to get him, and Kidd was a crucial piece, not a cornerstone.
Why?
Because max contracts should be reserved for legit shooters and bigs.
And as good a shooter as Deron is, he doesn't quite fit the bill.
The Clippers are already a flawed team financially by having CP3 (although they maybe have a chance while Griffin is on his rookie contract).
And unless Hayward or Miles or even Burks figure it out, Utah needs a legit shooter more than a point guard. I would like to see Burks develop into a combo.
