What's new

Andrew Bogut

what would it take for the Jazz to get him? I'd give up Al Jefferson, expiring AK and CJ and future picks for Bogut, Salmons, Maggette or something to that affect?

DWill would likely stick around if we could pull off Bogut who would fit in better than Jefferson has! Much better passer and defender!

Williams
Salmons
Maggette
Millsap
Bogut

i like and would give up A LOT for Bogut, even though his numbers are down this year. Coming back from his injury will take some more time and he'd be such a perfect fit in Utah's system!!

The Bucks are not going to trade us Bogut unless it includes DW. The only way that the Jazz would be able to get him is through FA and for all accounts Bogut is happy for the Bucks. That could change but I just don't see how the Jazz would be able to get him.

He's definitely not as dumb as Jefferson and would learn the offense in a few weeks instead of a few months (and even then Jefferson still isn't getting it).

But, I'll tell ya what it would take for us to get him, the Bucks would need to hire a GM that's a Jazz fan, like John Stockton (ie. the Jerry West, Memphis, Pau Gasol BS.)

Why would you want a player who will never be able to shoot well from outside due to his ****ed up elbow?

he's a workhorse in the paint, who can defend both weakside and 1 on 1. a prolific rebounder and shot blocker, who can put up points on the offensive end....

we aren't lookin for memo 2.0

Bucks have some bad contracts. Salmons: 4 more years at $8 million? Gooden(?!): 4 more years at $7 million? They will have to give up some real players (Bogut, etc) to get anyone to take those guys back.

I would love to get Bogut.
He has been great the last few years.

I doubt we will get him, let alone a Maggette, and Salmons along with him.
Pipe dream.

also Jefferson is typically a 20-10 guy and putting up better numbers than Bogut. he's also younger and i think the bucks might bite if the jazz threw in AK's expiring while taking on 1 or 2 of their bad contracts. Salmons and Maggette would still be an upgrade to what we have right now.

I'd take him as long as we could keep Deron, Millsap, and Big Al. We really do need a third big man considering Memo isn't back.

Bogut is made of glass. All he did was fall awkwardly with all his weight on one hand from a pretty good height with momentum and his elbow just gave way. Wuss. Not like Boozer who legitimately fell incredibly hard against the wall, presumably under duress, and pretty much punched through solid concrete and barely broke his pinky finger.

He was under constant duress from that bitch on the bachelor as well. He's a saint.

Bogut on the Jazz would be an absolute dream and I think, hypothetically, would be the difference between Deron staying or not. Guy plays a winning game in a losing situation. If the Jazz have to take on bad contracts on top of all that, ****ing go for it. Bogut is probably the most defensively complete 5 in the league and has a decent, well-rounded game outside of that as well. His arm will heal, which is probably one reason the Bucks never let him go.

I think Perkins is more complete defensively but maybe Garnett makes him look a little better. Either way, I agree. I would love to trade Jefferson for him, or something like that.

I understand the love of Perkins to a degree. I don't have the numbers in front of me right now, but Bogut regularly is one of the league-leaders in charges taken and BPG. On top of that, this year he's allowed his opponent to have an average 11.1 PER (that's very good one-on-one D, he shuts down his matchup). Complete as hell, especially considering his strong arm is hobbled and he's doing a lot of things with his off-hand this year. If his right arm heals to even 90%, this injury could've actually made him a better player.

Just think we could have traded Boozer for him straight up 3 or 4 years ago. And quite a # of people on hear railed against such an idea as a bad trade for Utah.
