Today Latvian National Team started training camp for Eurobasket but Andris Biedrins did not show up.
The Federation hopes to have Biedrins for Eurobasket scheduled in September in Slovenia while the player has not given any reason why he can't join the National Team.
His agency, BDA Sports, wants him to play for National Team. Last season Biedrins averaged 0.4ppg and 0.3rpg in 55 NBA games.

Not sure if this is a good sign or a bad sign. Maybe he is lazy. Maybe he is training for his huge comeback. The article indicated that more information would be forthcoming.

Maybe his phone died, and he overslept, he didn't wake up in time because he was out doing what normal 20 year old college students do.....

oh, wait. Sorry wrong guy.

Nice discovery. Thanks for posting.

The only reason Beeds goes back to Latvia is because he's a rock star and can bang endless bar slores and drink free booze for two months.

is he a veteran?
if so corbin will play him a lot

DOL already said Jazz are going to help rebuild his confidence. Now I guess I could argue that the Jazz said they were helping to build the Core's confidence by sitting them on the bench for extended stretches--so we can expect Biedrens to sit.

But I could also argue that the Jazz have become the NBA equivilant of a Rehab Hosptial where guys who are failing come to try to rehab their carreers. Corbin gave lots of minutes to Howard, Harris, Tinsley, Watson, Mo, Al, Foye, DeMarre and Marvin---all of whom were either returning from an injury or a dreadful performance and were just glad for a place to play extended minutes in hopes of one more contract.

No way in hell do you sit the young guys another f'ing year under a bunch of washed up players, man.

Millsap and Buig Al was a little reasonable, but to play them under this? Nah, man. I don't think Lindsey laces diesel fuel with his doja.

On the other hand, maybe we should HOPE Corbin gives Biedrins a lot of PT and Andris fails miserably. Would lead to a worse record and perhaps be a deciding factor in NOT giving Ty a new contract.

I would be afraid of that backfiring and suddenly the contract-year double-double Biedrins would show up, kick gum and chew ***, or something. I like the idea of playing him a few minutes here and there just to let his suckitude pull us down enough to drop an extra 5-6 games.

Playing the young guns has to be priority #1.

He'll still come in occasionally and suck it up, so it all works out.
