"Collier can't shoot."

**** like this annoys me. Is he a good three point shooter? Not yet. But he improved as the season progressed. Shooting in the upper-20s %-wise (which he did for a few separate months) isn't good but I would bet he'll have months of 30+% next season. To say he straight up can't shoot is *******. Yeah - he needs to improve. Most rookies do.

He's currently a terrible jump shooter by NBA guard standards. Go look at his shooting splits and basically everything outside of the paint is well below league average.

He is young and did show some improvement. I don't think he's hopeless, but to get upset about a factual statement is interesting.

At the moment, Collier fits the description of a change-of-pace, backup point guard. He's kind of like Elfrid Payton. That said, DeAaron Fox wasn't much of a shooter when he came into the league.

Didn't know where exactly to put this so I just started a new thread. I really enjoyed reading about his votes.
I can get behind most of his choices and his logic makes sense. Especially for Jokic. Ignoring the best season for a generational player few will ever match would be a travesty.

To state someone can't shoot ensues it can't be fixed. If Collier cannot shoot them how did his shot progress as the season progressed? Also, it's not a factual statement. If it was a factual statement Collier would literally be unable to shoot a basketball....

Nobody said anything about his shooting can't improve. The article was about Colliers performance this year and why he is ranked where he is in the rookie year rankings this year.

This year Collier couldn't shoot at league average levels.

Is that a more factual statement for you?

Just calling it what it is. No reason to sugar coat it.

Sure is. Calling him a below average shooter is a much better opinion than 'he can't shoot'.

His jump shot mechanics don't look particularly bad. He's only had his rookie season, and he'll only get better next season.

Great article. Thanks for highlighting it.

I bet if we were talking to Andy that he would adjust the can't shoot language slightly but it is besides the main point that Collier shot very poorly to start the season driving his collective stats way down.

Yall forgot the Sloanism I guess. Collier can definitely shoot... just not sure he can make.
