Members of a progressive group of Jewish leaders sent Mr. Trump a strongly worded letter, insisting that he not visit the Pittsburg synagogue until he denounces white nationalism, and stop targeting immigrants, minorities, and refugees.

One anti-Semitic conspiracy that also fuels anti-immigrant sentiment as well is the belief that George Soros is funding the Caravan. Classic anti-Semitism, seeing a prominent Jew as (mis)directing history. It's amazing the degree of vitriol focused on this one individual. Trump's denouncement of globalism, combined with fear mongering over the composition of the Caravan, is him seizing on what he sees as a winning political strategy. Trump is willing to exacerbate fear in his supporters, and stir anger and hatred, in the pursuit of votes.
And that is the measure of the man. That he is willing to spread fear, and engender anger and hate in order to win the midterms.
Politicians can be naturally cynical, lots of proof of that, but take note he knows he wins by dividing. There has never been an effort to unify Americans. Whenever he speaks as a unifier, as he did in response to the synagogue massacre, he speaks with a monotone indifference. Listen to how stilted. It seldom sounds from the heart, IMHO. He does not speak that way spreading fear and anger, and stoking hatred, at his rallies. He's got the tallest and most visible platform in the nation. Neither a demonstrator in an anti-Trump "mob", nor Maxine Waters, or any other Democrat, has his media reach. And since the media can't help themselves, and put him on the airwaves at the flick of his tiny hands, his words matter most, he's always been the number one reality TV show. And the measure of the man is telling when he has chosen to star in a show that divides his fellow citizens. Who side is he on again?

(No, Trump didn't put weapons in the hands of the synagogue shooter, but he has helped spread conspiracy theories, his idea of a dialogue with his fellow Americans is to bring their minds into the sewer, and make their heart's rage with hate. The tone and atmosphere he surrounds himself with has been toxic. If there's any such thing as a national soul, he's trampling it into the ground with the most poisonous rhetoric. I have never in my life heard a president so consistently elicit anger from his audience. The media as "the true enemy of the people" so simple to see through, yet his followers at his rallies, at least, entranced, blind.)

"Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) popularized a video of a man handing money to women waiting in a group of people to speculate that George Soros was paying caravan members to migrate to the US. Trump
tweeted the video without Gaetz’s remarks or any other context as to who was doing the paying — but he certainly spread the idea that caravan members were getting paid.
Anti-Semites on the internet took the theory one step further. They portrayed the caravan as a deliberate effort by Jews writ large to invade the United States, using an image — purportedly from footage of the caravan — in which a Star of David is seen on a truck into which people are climbing."
