Next season, if a player draws an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty during the play, the penalty will wipe away the result of the play. For example, if a player high steps or unnecessarily dives into the end zone, the touchdown will be taken away and a 15-yard penalty will be assessed.

That's absurd. I respect guys that just go out and play the game, but it's also nice to see some guys enjoy themselves.

Well at least they haven't been as anal about flagging trivial stuff recently. So it might not be a big deal. But yes truly absurd.

But if a play is over, the result will stand. For example, most unsportsmanlike penalties happen after the play (excessive celebration, taunting). The result of that should still stand as it's technically a dead ball foul. I don't really see a lot changing based on how I'm interpreting this.

It's another way for refs to decide a winner if they want to.
I think Pac 10 refs will eat this stuff up.
The Oklahoma's of the world will be pretty angry when a ref decides they actually lost the game.

So taunting while going into the end zone should be allowed and championed. They should reverse the rule. If you DON'T make a fool of yourself going into the end zone, it's a fifteen yarder.

How come I'm the only one who likes this rule? I watch sports to see athletes and my teams perform at their best, not to see some stupid *** mocking his opponents. There is celebration, and then there is bull ****. I'm tired of the bull ****.

I'm sure you're one of the idiots that agree with the flag given to the player for saluting the stands after scoring a TD in the bowl game. That flag ended up costing his team big time, if not the game.

Believe it or not, I have no idea what game you're talking about. When it comes to college football, I pretty much only watch BYU games. I could also give two ***** about the BCS and their bull **** bowl games.

They're slowly taking all of the passion and emotion out of sports. Turning us all into softies so they can easily depopulate.

Speaking of college football doesn't Andrew Luck look a tad "special"?
