I have been looking at teams over and over and there is no trade out there that seems realistic that involves Al...except Al for Boozer, and I want no part of that. That being said, would this work: (or am I being too optimistic).
The Nets basically renounce the rights to every single FA they have. They sign Deron to a max deal and receive Howard from Orlando. They do this for obvious reasons. They now have their two stars to take to Brooklyn and know the Knicks of the NY pedistal.
Orlando receives Jefferson from the Utah Jazz. They do this because they get a 20/10 player, he is on a one year deal giving them flexibility, and he can play Howard's position. I would even toss in the GS pick to give them an asset to sell to their fanbase. If Jefferson doesn't work out (he won't), they let him walk. If he does work out, they have their guy and can do an extension for him. They also get a little bit of cap room with this move. Jefferson averaged 20 and 10 last year. Howard was 20 and 15. I am NOT comparing the two, but if you own the Magic, you can sell this to your fanbase.
The Jazz receive Morrow from NJ and Reddick from Orlando. They Jazz get rid of Jefferson and get back two really young, very good role players. We now have the 2/3 position completely shored up. We have a rotation of Burks, Hayward, and Morrow, an amazing shooter. We also get a very, very good backup pg.
Toss in draft picks and other useless players as you see fit.
Would this be the outline of a trade that might actually work? Flame away, or shower me with praise, as you see fit.
