Any Chance ATL wants to shed salary?

Right now, the Hawks have two PF on their roster that I would LOVE to have: Josh Smith and Al Horford. Since they can't even win a game in the 2nd round, I'd think they'd consider dumping one of those guys for some future assets. I could be totally wrong on this, but I could see them losing some games this year and dumping one of these guys.Or maybe they are cash-strapped right now because of Joe Johnson? Horford is my dream, but Smith would rock as well.

Anyways, any word on how Atlanta is doing money wise?

I don't think they're just gonna give one of those guys away. I'd like to have Smith but I'm sure if they wanted to move him they could get more than a trade exception.

The Booze TPE works better next season for those players. Well, mostly Smith. They didn't just sign Johnson to cash in a major component of the team for nothing. They may revisit that after this season.

Which makes me wonder that if they start losing a lot of games in the East (which is very possible- its a much improved conference) they'll be more willing to dump one of these guys, especially if they get Shaq.

Who got the biggest FA contract this year?

LeBron? No
Wade? No
Bosh? No
Pierce? No
Boozer? No

JOE F'n Johnson 127M

No wonder ATL hasn't won anything.

Love Smith: an athletic freak that plays D, finishes with powaaaaa and is really young too. Were not getting him but I think he would be a perfect 3 for us

Love Horford: Not getting him but he can ball it up, another great defender with length and athleticism

I like Horford. Probably not til next year though as a FA. I think he'll be a RFA, but they'll be strapped with Joe Johnson's contract.

Horford should be our primary target heading into free agency next year. The kid has superstar potential written all over him. I'd easily give him the Boozer deal - 6 years, 68 Million.

Mr. Stern, it's a little disconcerting seeing eye to eye with you.
I still hate you.

The jazz need a tough physical player with attitude ala Matt Harpring. The Jazz cant keep allowing superstars or even non superstars(Linas Kleiza) to continually have career high's against them.

Wasn't there a Boozer for Artest and Battier rumor last year. Man, that would have really helped our team- a tough player and maybe the only two guys in the league that can guard a Kobe/Melo/KD

The Jazz are looking at a 6-8 seed these days at best. Wouldn't it be better just to realize that a rebuild is necessary instead of being in the should we or shouldn't we stages of a possible rebuild. It would be nice if they had the talent to win now. But they don't, and Josh Smith isn't going to change that drastically.

It may not be possible to get our hands on either Smith or Horford, but what about getting Josh Childress this year since I don't really think they can match an offer to him?
