None of the above. There have also been at least two people who have since worn #8.I believe the last one was Karl M.
Do you guys see any players that have played for the Jazz since then getting their jerseys retired?
A few to think about : AK-47, Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Kyrylo Fesenko
Hasn’t been anyone, and I would say none of those ever hang in the rafters. Hopefully Gobert and Mitchell hang one day along with a championship banner.I believe the last one was Karl M.

Fixed that for you.Hasn’t been anyone, and I would say none of those ever hang in the rafters. Hopefully Gobert and Mitchell hang one day along with championship banners.
AK for his tenure (10 years, damn!) but half of that was pretty soured. I’d say Memo was more beloved. Had AK jived with the Deron/Boozer/Okur era and bought in to his role, I’d say he’d for sure be retired. The potential of what could have been.AK is the only player with a real argument, but I dont see that happening.
The thing is the Jazz retired Mark Eaton and Jeff Hornacek, so the bar isnt super high on getting your jersey retired.Sadly, there are no legit candidates for jersey retirement since Karl M.
I like AK. I like him a lot. But he doesn't have anything resembling the kind of resume needed for jersey retirement.
Deron was awesome here, but all he ever did was get us to the WCF where we got stomped.
Carlos is a joke. A sad unfunny joke. But his jumper was pretty sweet. I don't think that's jersey retirement stuff, but yeah, he could hit the close jumper like nobody's business.
I'd actually guess Okur or Harpring are the best potential candidates, but I wouldn't give it to either of them. Harpring was a role player, his biggest argument is his heart and loyalty to the team. "Money shot" Mehmet Okur was also loyal and more of an option, but just not at that level.

AK tops in all total stats for Utah. The more I think about it, he probably should get his jersey retired if Eaton/Hornacek did.
Hornacek was always beloved by fans and attached to our finals teams, the third player you’d mention in an association with Stockton and Malone. Eaton was actually legendary in a number of ways. 11 years with the Jazz, plus continued involvement post-retirement. A 1x all-star (as was AK), 5x all-defensive and I believe #3 in all time blocks at the time he retired. Not arguments that those two should or shouldn’t have their number retired, but with the way everything went down with the second half of the AK era, it gets difficult to make an argument because it was the intangibles that pushed those other guys up into the rafters. The thing is the Jazz retired Mark Eaton and Jeff Hornacek, so the bar isnt super high on getting your jersey retired.

SOB beat me to it.Based on that criteria, yeah sort of. But... Eaton was OG. That counts for something. He also has the record for career blocks per game at 3.5. He almost nabbed the record for career blocks in just above half the time it took Jabbar to get it. Eaton was the real deal. His story was also cool.
Hornacek is there because he put over the Jazz over the hump to get to the finals. He was the 3rd guy in the "big-3" that made that Jazz team elite. That team was amazing. Those seasons that led to finals were unbelievable. He was a huge part of that. It wasn't just what his stats were then, it's what his place on the team did to bring the Jazz to the next level. Hornacek earned every bit of his jersey being retired.
Yeah, but if the criteria for getting in is just putting up a lot of unique stats + career longevity, AK did that too.Based on that criteria, yeah sort of. But... Eaton was OG. And as to infection critique on Andre falling off in the 2nd half of his career, Eaton kind of did the same did he not?
Yeah and AK is #2 in blocks, #4 in steals, #7 in games played, #5 in assist, #6 in points, and #7 in rebounds. Though his raw stats fell of in the 2nd half of his career, his advanced stats (which people didnt care about as much back then) were always high.He holds the career record for blocks per game.
AK fell off for as far as what I can tell were mental reasons and because Sloan didn't make him the focus of the offense. Eaton gave it his all and just started breaking down. He called it quits when it was clear he couldn't do it anymore.
shut upOkur? Hayward?
I think the Jazz org would love to see Gordon's jersey hanging from the rafters...
if he were in it.
