I'm hoping he's recruiting players to the Jazz before then, and he's already been on an All NBA team, so he can sign for the mega max deal (or does it need to happen the year before the new contract). I don't think it will matter. He'll have a lot more incentive to sign with the Jazz as far as money goes than Hayward did.

It's pretty obvious.. There are no guarantees in the league. He hasn't had to make that decision and if his circumstances change down the track, he might also have to make a tough choice.. Either way, no matter how much disappointment there is for Hayward leaving, there needs to be some level of class and maturity. (as shown by the official Utah responses)

If all they had to do to win a ring is get out of the east then, perhaps there is a chance. However, to win a championship they have to get through the winner of the west and that isn't happening any time real soon. Boston (even with Hayward) would have been brutally swept in the finals against the warriors this year.
