What's new

Anyone invested in the market

obviously, I've flushed a pigeon outta the thicket, again.

lessee, this argument will last until fish does his flop, or quits and gets outta the fumes.
I dont smoke pot btw.
I did smoke it daily from about 17 years old until I was about 27 though.
Lived on my own (never with mom and dad), paid all my bills on time, had a credit score over 800 (still do), and had a job the entire time.

I know many people the same way as me (pot smokers who have good long term jobs and own thier own houses and pay all thier bills, etc)

You know nothing about this topic apparently

What? I think you have weed confused with heroin. Why do you think that weed is more lethal than alcohol?

Also weed like everything else is brandable. If weed were just as legal as tobacco you would have the same kinds of giant brands. If it becomes legal across the US Phillip Morris will get into the game and they will make a lot of money doing it.

With weed it's never a single issue. Pot fumes will cloud your reason and you'll go stumbling around fallin' into every ditch.

I've seen more drunks, more alcoholics in my life, and more long-term moderate social drinkers who never drink alone.

I've known weed users on the job in no-drug workplaces and been around to have the crap scared outta me enough to call for the test. Almost every tenant I've ever had that "went bad" did so by becoming a pothead.

It's not a matter of if you can just smoke one joint and then go a month without the notion. It's a matter of identity and self-image. I've never known of a user who wasn't on the mind trip. You imagine stuff. You shuffle off a lot of good sense and good reason, you can't stop yourself while you believe you're above the effects.

Sorry if you don't like reality. I'm still shoveling the crap outta the apartment the last pothead left.

I would guarantee that there are people close to you in your life that are regular marijuana users that you have no idea are pot smokers.

Black and white stances on issues are so 1950s. Try to bring your reasoning, logic, and cognition into the 21st century, babe.

Taking one down after a hard days work is totally fine.

I probably don't know every weeder in town, but the ones who come to my attention are dying fast and hard. They don't go from being well-bathed applicants then renters with jobs and good references, even long-term prompt-payers to flops lying in a pile of excrement overnight, but after I evict them they probably live under the overpass and maybe have a life expectancy of two years.

I dunno. Pacific Garden Mission might pick up a few and turn them around.

So here's a question of critical reasoning, if you're doin' weed.

ya think it helps make you intellectually sharp and better able to follow the implications of reason?

case closed.

I don't smoke weed. I haven't since I was a teenager. I don't like it, but it isn't what you think it is. I kinda think that your renters are doing more than just smoke weed if they are as bad as you say.

weed is a peak product. It can grow anywhere, by anybody, under lamps or in the woods where the snow drifts last nine months.

NObody's got a patent, and the customers don't care about brands. Most importantly, it's users die off young without even ever being "good". Anyone who uses it a lot will turn into a bum and have to go back to mama's basement and beg for a little loose change under the overpass.

It's a loser's culture. Yeah, alcohol creates bums too, but like a good virus or disease, it gets transmissible while not yet fatal. Churches use the stuff for sacrament, and it's a healthy substitute for "runny" water. Weed wipes out whole countries if the folks just fail to despise and persecute users.

We're about 30% from going extinct, or from weed going to 1% market share, the idiots-only user level. We haven't decided which way we will go yet. It is to be hoped that by destroying the pop-cultural, cool illegal mythologies that have given it its subcultural base since the sixties, it will go back to the idiots-only level like in the nineteen twenties, when those "hayseed" rednecks were the only users, and they could hardly pull their overalls up long enough to brew a batch of corn. All it took to put the stills on the map was a stupid federal law and a bunch of even stupider federal agents combing the woods tracking down copper tubing. With that "reality" in place, those rednecks hardly even cared about weed.

Anyone who didn't get the humor in this is slower than me, and that's saying a lot.

The best time of my life was the five or six years that I was a pothead. I lived alone, started a business, made six figures, fished my *** off, had toys, had friends, had fun. Once I started being more "adult" , I lost my business, lost my home, lost my friends, lost my passions. Ts been ten years since I quit and I'm still trying to figure **** out.

I think you're giving him waaaaaaay too much credit. Seriously.

Well, I think you're not telling the whole story here. It was your wife who laid down the law, and she was worth whatever has happened since you decided she counted more.

Some of you guys missed the full-tilt drift of my comment, which was to the point of how stupid the laws criminalizing pot are, really. Even someone like me, a confessed to addict to whatever evils I ever start, who has to absolutely draw lines at "zero", and who has theological reasons for alleged beliefs and opinions, can be against stupid laws that only make whatever problems we have worse.

Trout, I've been convinced that the devil helps a lot of people earn big bucks if they're "useful idiots" who can set a wrong example. I think you're doing better now. And I think your future prosperity has more of a certain basis. Wives, I hear, usually make a haul of whatever a guy has, it they decide to ditch him. A good marriage and a happy wife are certainly worth millions. Might not show up in the bank balance, but it sure clears the liability side of the ledger

Ummm

Tbh I think that went over my head because I have heard those arguments used as if they were serious on more than one occasion. It sounded a lot like what I have heard before.

I'm not sure if the insult is better than the compliment, but I'll take them either way.

p.s. What gives you the indication that I have a happy wife...?

Not sure this post is in the right thread. . . . . but it's a good one.

Amazing. This is the right thread for C's post.

Now I'm not sure how weed got into this thread. . . . . I guess if you subject it some kind of oil press you get cannabis oil? What's the price of that per barrel, and why don't we run our cars with it?

I'm going through a month long internal debate about sitting on the sidelines for a while. I almost think it's finally time. The triangle has been setting up since January, wage pressure is finally here, the world for the most part is in a slump, and we haven't had a correction forever.

Most husbands underestimate their wife's happiness with them because mostly you notice the necessary complaints all wives will have. . . stuff like taking out the garbage, taking the cooler cover off in May. . . . you know the drill. However, the subliminal messages I get from you are that you care about her a whole lot more than weed, and that's a huge statement. I don't think she missed that clue.
