Anyone with Insider?

I would actively avoid taking advice from Bobby Marks about draft trades.

I like Bobby... you make one or two franchise crippling trades and now you aren't credible? I kid, but I do like listening to him... seems like a good dude.

They're saying the Jazz should re-sign Favors for 3 years / $45M and re-sign Exum with a 3-year deal that gives him a slight raise from his rookie deal. They think the Jazz should continue to treat Exum as a recently drafted developmental player. However, the article doesn't mention the potential for these guys to get better offers on the FA market.

Jonathan Givony has a mock that predicts Utah would take Anfernee Simons at #21 and Isaac Bonga falling all the way to #52.

Yeah... I don't like the Favors proposed deal. I like the Exum deal... I don't mind the draft. Looks good.

15 mil/year in todays NBA is nothing. Especially if he keeps developing 3 point shot. Exum's deal reflects his value so it is a good deal.

I think he's worth it for most teams without a center. I don't think he's worth it for us. Also... I harbor hopes of the Jazz being a player in the high end free agency market either this year, or more likely in 2019. IMO this is the moment to strike. If we don't get a high end FA this summer or next, we never will.

We have a limited window, but I think it extends to 2020 if we need it to. Basically we need to get a FA before DM's rookie deal is up. We could do a CP3 scenario as well, but I agree we need to hit in FA... getting something for basically nothing jumps teams to the next level. Boston, Houston, GS have all had major FA additions and are reaping the benefits.

Favs at 3/45 is not a good deal for us. Unless it is a bargain (like 4/40) and is a trade asset then we only keep him on a one year overpay imo.

I'm not a Simons guy... huge project imo... likely doesn't help us until his final year of his rookie deal if at all. See Exum, Dante.

If he became a high end trade asset because he flashed some potential that'd be great and DM being close with him is good and all, but I'm not sold.

Not for a team that might have cap room. Or a team near the luxury tax. Really, it's not nothing in any scenario.

Favs on a 1 year deal is what I would prefer. I don't mind how high they go on a salary. We just need a short term deal to keep cap flexibility so we can strike if an opportunity to greatly improve the team presents itself.

If we let Favors go, we should expect to be without a decent center for about 15 games next year, and no decent back-up center at all. So, if he's worth it for teams without a center, he's worth it for us.
