Game Thread Apr 08, 2022 07:30PM MT: Jazz vs. Suns

Added to Calendar: 04-08-22

We lost this game because we don’t have anyone that runs the offense or makes the rest of the team better. Paul did that. That’s why they scored and we couldn’t in the fourth. If we had a CP3 here we’d be contenders. We’d get layups instead of Don taking turn around fade 18ft shots. They weren’t depending on iso down the stretch. This is why in the even though Stocktons jazz had the least talent other then the two HOF players they had the most success having that pure pass first pg matters. Which is why Paul joining the suns instantly made them from bottom dwellers to genuine contenders. This team just looked like they were running around with their heads cut off. 13 ****ing points and we lose by 6. Never should’ve happened.

It's the hope that kills you.
I legit have no hope… I’m not even a little mad… I absolutely knew it was coming.

We don’t have a problem in the fourth just like Phoenix isn’t amazing in the fourth… it’s just about data and stats and execution… there is no emotional intelligence or anxiety or mental deficiencies… just a series of highly unlikely things that could happen to anyone. If anything talking and tweeting about it is unfair and the cause of the problem… again… no problem… but if there was… it’s your fault for not understanding basketball well enough… guys I’m a basketball lawyer… y’all are Twitter nerds typing in your moms basement

Next Quin will say Greg Norman had nerves of steel just didn’t execute properly in 25 tournaments on the back 9
The Bills were actually clutch AF.

That’s not entirely true. Some dudes made some miracle shots, or went on big birdie runs. It’s hard to win tournaments. He’s still one of the all time greats. He just seemed cursed. Guys always seemed to make great shots against him a chip in or crazy birdie run. He won a lot too.

I don’t know how Quin says stuff with a straight face.

It's funny how for most teams this would easily be their most gut-punch loss of the season, but I don't even think this cracks the top 10 for the Jazz.
Nope. We were only up 17. It's basically just another Friday night.

I’m not going to fact check this guy, but if everyone is expecting us to not fact check Quin, then random twitter people get a pass, too.

So it’s an anxiety death spiral. We start super slow with a 0-4 run… but then it tightens up a bit and Donovan and sometimes Mike think “we’ve got to get a good shot” and then they force an iffy look… miss. Then something dumb like a moving screen or bad pass and now we are in full blown anxiety mode. Then it’s contested fade aways layups that have no shot… a guy open but doesn’t shoot cuz his *** cheeks are so tight he can’t move… now there is 5 seconds on the clock….

It’s definitely on Donovan but also big time on Quin… Mike gets a sliver too for not being assertive enough. Suns put on a master class… Monty might not be the best Xs and Os guy… got canned in NO and struggled… but he’s likely the best leader/emotional intelligence guy. Between him and CP it’s not surprising they win every close game… the rest of the team feeds off it and picks up their play.

We have the opposite… a guy that can’t adjust on the fly… that underestimates the human mental part of this… thinks he can clipboard his way out of this ****… it’s more than that Dawg.

How is Quin empowering our best player by saying him only receiving 2 passes per game from our highest usage player is not a problem?

I mean if you look at it 619 is basically average… if you look at the population across all basketball players everywhere it’s elite. 99% percentile. When you use numbers you need context. How many of those 625 were up 20? Not many so the sample is too small.

It's seriously time to call in a shaman, medicine man, exorcist, priest, soothsayer, or any other form of performance altering individual to get rid of this juju.

Maybe Kyrie would come and burn some sage to cleanse the arena and locker room.

619 is actually the best position to be in with the sex machine. If you’re the 1 in between that 6 and 9. There’s no other 1 between a 6 and a 9 so that’s actually pretty good, depending how you look at it.

I truly don’t care anymore… we have managed to live in denial and make dumbass moves that internet jackasses like me could tell were mistakes from day one…

Simple ****… like hey sign Daniel house… hey don’t basic centers… don’t sign backup centers to huge deals… don’t give away firsts to alleviate cash crunches you just caused… don’t play Forrest over JB… maybe when JB shows you some **** in preseason embrace it rather than tamp it down.

We don’t acknowledge our issues… we live in denial as an organization… we did this to ourselves… it’s our fault.

Maybe we just have the one backwards… that would create an issue for sure… like if you were connecting the wrong ends of legos.
