What's new

Are there any Kanter apologists left? What are they saying?

Enes Kanter is a soft mother ****er. So soft that Malone gave up on training him after 1 summer. We all know Malone he dont give up on anything but Kanter he finally had enough of his soft *** and threw in the towel.

Now Rudy, there is a boy who works out like a real man. He should be Exums personal coach. Perfect body matches.

I really wanted Kanter to work out. I saw a lot of potential with him. I really didn't want 1/2 of the Deron Williams trade to be traded away. But we had to get rid of him and it's whats best for business

Which leads me to Golden State, Lindsey really help them become a good team. I just think taking on all their bad contracts and paying 23-25 million for two late first rounds picks just seems overpriced to me. Of course this is my opinion and not yours or Dennis Lindsey's, I never claimed to be an expert. I simply voiced my opinion on the forum just like your doing.

You do realize there's a salary floor, right? Would have spent that much had we made the trade or not, either by signing overpriced vets or paying out the difference between the floor and actual salaries paid to the existing players on the roster.

Had we not obtained that extra pick, we would have remained at #14. Not sure if Utah would have taken Giannis or not. I DO know they would have taken Gobert at #21. DL hinted at that before the draft by saying everyone was sleeping on a big international player. Couldn't have been anyone else. So, they used the pick to trade up for Trey (oh well) but managed to buy back in to take Gobert.

In response to another post, I think Lindsey is looking like a freaking GENIUS right now. And oh yeah, not a bad GM before him who was responsible for getting Favors and Hayward (and previously trading up to get Deron). Oh yeah, let's put Kanter into the "win" column as far as the draft. Very good player. Just got pushed aside by the man who just might be the best of his generation.

And not a bad choice by Lindsey in terms of bringing in a new head coach. Lindsey is already a top-10 GM.

All of the history you just cited -- every single bit of it -- is glaringly incomplete.

I'm not trying to post history to back up my opinion. I remember the trades very well. There is a reason everyone is giving the Jazz C's on their trade grades and their trade partners A's. I'm sure if you want to learn more about the history of trades you can find it on the internet somewhere without me posting it for you.

your evidence is the fluff pieces with trade grades????? lmfao. What a wild fail.

What I find amusing is so many posters slammed the Jazz for not getting at least SOMETHING - even a 2nd-rounder for Milsap or Big Al. Yet we got a future 1st and other assets for a guy who we probably would have let walk at a contract above $13-14M (maybe even less).

Jazz could have got a similar draft pick in a sign and trade deal

Who asked for credibility? I'm not borrowing money

Facts are the common ground that allows for opinions to be meaningfully discussed. If you don't think your opinion requires factual backup, then that opinion is irrelevant outside of your own head, and should really be ignored.

Dennis Lindsey, where trading top picks for future lower picks happens.

Dennis Lindsey = Disneyland DLindseyland. Enjoy the magic and fantasy he surrounded this guy with.

No, they could not have. And even if they did that would be all they got is a single late 1st pick without any of the other filler they got in this trade.

First of all the pick we got from Golden State was the 2014 and 2017 draft picks. We used that pick on Rodney hood and didn't trade the pick. But I agree with you that Lindsey has done an awesome job as far as the draft has gone. I think moving up and getting Gobert was a excellent move especially where they got him at. I was hoping the Jazz drafted him at #14 but it even worked out better how it turned out.

Doubtful.
Why would a team give up assets in a S&T? They know Utah isn't going to match a big offer sheet.

Ergul made it very clear Kanter wants max or close to it. So Kanter isn't going to bargain with a team for $11M-$12M. Utah would want him back at that price.

So Team X has two options:
1. Overpay by $3M or so and NOT give up additional assets. Take the risk Utah is going to match a $15M-$16M offer sheet.
2. Agree to give Kanter $15M-$16M (which is his demand anyway) and give up picks and players. But it 100% guarantees Utah doesn't match an offer sheet.

Umm, man...that's such a tough choice. I'll just have Enes sign an offer sheet for $15M and take my chances Utah isn't going to match it...because they WON'T!

Jazzfanz board: goes berserk at losing another player for "nothing." Same people say we should have AT LEAST gotten a 2nd-round pick for Enes.

And my apologies on confusing the draft picks. The #21 we had was from Golden State via Brooklyn, I believe. Guess that was the last remaining asset from the Deron trade?

Who won the trade?

Jazz took on bad contracts of:
R Jefferson
A Beidrins
B Rush
Which cost 24 million

Jazz got
2014 first rd pick= Hood
2017 first rd pick=???
They also received 3 second round picks= none have been used yet

Instead the Jazz could have resigned D Carrol and P Milsap rather than take on the bad contracts. If that would have happened here is the Jazz current roster.

Trey Burke
Dante Exum
Gordon Hayward
Alec Burks
Derrick Favors
Rudy Gobert
Paul Milsap
Demarre Carrol

Your response to shocker is that Kanter wants max so thats what he will get? Je suis shoot me in the face.
