Are there any Kanter apologists left? What are they saying?

Let me look around....ah yes there are some apologists over in that corner. No, wait. My mistake those are Jazz front office apologists, not Kanter apologists. I also see some Ty Corbin impact minimalists, some Kanter Draft Revisionists, several Monday-morning quarterbacks, a misanthrope and a straw man.
Lol. Need to rep this when I can!

3rd year big commiment? Just starting in 37 games... No Al, no Millsap. Big commitment? WHERE?

And I didn't say that more muscle mass makes you a better player. And he was not in shape, he was more than that. After season 1 or 2 (I don't remember) he worked very very hard. Your point was that he didn't care for the defensive game and I tried to show you that this is not true. He cared and worked very hard to gain muscles to play better in defense. So your point is not valid.
And Gobert is not hungrier than Kanter. Gobert has just a unique advantage over every player.

Just starting 37 games because he got SHREDDED on defense and was sent to the 2nd unit. He gained muscles, but it didn't help him play better defense. Jazz committed to Enes by letting Jefferson go. Kanter started the first 15 games, IINM, and was epically bad on the defensive side. Whether he cared or not really doesn't matter. He simply didn't get much better in his 3rd season (despite averaging 27 mins/per) and was only slightly improved after another 53 games this year, also averaging about the same mins/per. Care/not care; hungry/not hungry...maybe he just doesn't have the BBIQ to be a defender or is just too slow to react. Whatever the case, his defense SUCKS!

If you want to leave because we're too brutally honest for you, go right ahead. Kanter is a great talent on offense. He LOVES to score. And he loves to get rebounds. But like many other NBA players, he thinks that's enough. Snyder wants the team to be built on defense. Defense wins championships. Defense leads to scoring opportunities. And no matter what is happening on offense, even if your shot isn't falling, you can help the team by playing DEFENSE. Kanter didn't buy into that philosophy so he demanded a trade.

Anybody watching Kanter play. He is playing all out for OKC. They won without Westbrook and Durant with Kanter having a 16 15 5 Assist game. hIM AND iBAKA are playing great together like I seen Kanter and Gobert playing together. The jazz went for the all defense combo and as long as they can grab some offense its a good move.they still could have traded KANTER sooner to get more for him but the Jazz are winning so all is good.

I have a small problem with the "trade Kanter earlier for a larger return" line of reasoning. What if nobody in the nba wanted Kanter? What if the experts with all the analytics and advanced film work and scouting saw what we saw. What if Max and Enes really are difficult to work with and the other teams know it? What if Kanter is soft as charmin and everyone knows that too? (He sat out the other night against Portland because he had a bruise). What if the jazz got as much or more than the market would offer, now or last november, or even last July? Why was it when rumors of draft day trades surfaced Enes wasn't mentioned? He had already expressed a desire to leave, the Jazz would probably like to move him and keep Favors-the better player with a reasonable contract. But the rumours were about Favors or Hayward not the Turkish Johnny Bravo.

The Sixers just had a 60 point first half against okc. (No durant)
Canaan had a 17 point first half.
6 points and -11 plus minus for Enes.

Kanter finishes with 8/5 in 21 minutes. Ibaka got 31 mins, Collison 26 and McGary 21. Honeymoon is definitely over. OKC is ruining his development! Is it too late for him to request a trade?

Meanwhile, Westbrook is channeling his inner Kobe. 49/16/10 on 33 shots! No one in the NBA is as hot as he is right now.

I really hope that Canaan keep looking good for them so that when the Jazz offer them Burke and a crapload of picks, they're cool with passing on Russell for "the haul".

Any player is gonna play hard when they leave a team they didn't wanna be on...talk to me when the season is over and we will see what Kanter's numbers are and how he looks on defense. I always wanted Kanter to work in Utah too, I'm not a hater, but we know what Kanter is at this point in his career. I don't expect him to drastically change in OKC

He is working hard to impress, his payday and reputation are at stake. He only played 21 minutes last night. McGary got more time. Adams will be back in a few games. It is a nice distraction when the Jazz are not playing.

It took too much time for the Jazz to realise that Kanter and Favors can not play together. Favors defense is quite good but not good enough to camouflage Kanter's defensive limitations. It was obvious that Gobert would have been the Jazz future center....Jazz have chosen Favors over Kanter. Next season will be indicative to judge if the Jazz made the right choice.
Not really. Kanter wasn't going to accept the backup job. And neither was Gobert. So the decision HAD to be made. Right now you can say the Jazz made the right choice for THEM and the team identity Quin wants to have, namely one built on defense. OKC with Westbrook and Durant want to outscore every team. And they usually do. But PHILLY took them to OT and scored 118 points! They were fine with renting a player to replace an injured one.

I think the real interesting part of this will be to see what kind of offers we hear about for Enes this off-season. If someone gives him $15M/poer or if he returns to OKC on the qualifying offer, then Utah DEFINITELY made a great choice.

Kanter played 21 minutes last night because they are playing tonight and were saving his legs for tonight. he will get his minutes tonight.

Yeah, its well known that 22 year men cannot play b-ball two nights in a row. Poor enes, gonna be tired.
typical Kanter hater. cant reason or debate because of the hate. whether he is tired or not ,its not his decision on minutes. Im just telling you why I think the coach played him less minutes.they have plenty of bigs and I think that's the reason why. tonight he has played 15 in the first half,so what you got..

So for those hating on Snyder for substituting out for Kanter on defense at the end of games...guess what? OKC did the SAME thing! And he wasn't brought back in on offense. Will he complain about not closing games?

I will give him kudos for the offensive board and score to make it 103-99.
