The FO has done some of the big things really well since taking charge(like the Mitchell/Gobert trades). They also have done some important things poorly - like failing to formulate and follow a well discernible plan. To me it looks like we are just floating out there... in waiting pattern for something to happen without making decisive moves(after the big ones), which resulted in having to do 2 years of those half-tank maneuvers. They have also done some mind boggling decisions on the margins - the Collins trade, especially since we picked Hendricks in the top 10 of the draft within few days of that trade. On the other hand I have actually liked a lot of the draft picks they've made and I think they have good potential.
At the end of the day, the success or failure of this FO will be determined to a huge degree by the big decisions they make. They set up the franchise well with the big trades of Mitchell and Gobert. We have tons of assets. But assets don't play. Assets need to be turned into tangible prospects/players and we are yet to see the final results of those... and it will be quite some time until we see the final results. Even with what I consider 2 suboptimal years, the Jazz are still set up really well for the future. We just need to hit and hit big on some of those many shots we have(or be successful in our "big game hunting")...
