I know he's a Laker, but I have always liked him.

Also, check out his lil' excerpt in this video.

As far as all-time greats are concerned, you'd be hard-pressed to name one classier than Magic.

EDIT: Hilarious mention of Tyrone Corbin found in video.

PS: Thanks prodigy for the upload. Come back!

You should ask Isiah Thomas how he feels about him.......... JK. Magic is a class act and entertaining to watch. He has to be pretty happy that his Dodgers(part owner) just signed a 25 year 8.5 billion dollar TV deal.

Top-10 player. Great dude. Single-handedly changed the pick-for-free-agent-signing rule and the Jazz were the sacrificial lamb. Speaking of sacrificial lambs, he also pretty much single-handedly let the entire world know that AIDS is a serious threat to anyone.

They didn't call him Magic Johnson for nothing.

Best all-around player in the game, period! Best PG in the game (sorry, John). Stockton defenders have to use the "pass-first" argument to put him ahead of johnson. Magic was simply a playmaker with the ability to score at will. Heck, the guy even played the 5 in a playoff game.

I agree, best PG in the game. That's not even a knock on Stockton, Magic was just that good and a top 10 player ever. Also seems like a genuine good guy, some womanizing issues aside (though I don't care personally).

Honestly, the thing that soured me the most on Magic (not much, but a little) was him doing ads for Rent A Center. That place is one of the biggest rip offs of the poor ever.

Awesome player. He used his size and diverse skills to more or less toy with opposing PGs. He ran the Lakers' Showtime, plus could score on his own.

Magic Johnson is not the best pure point ever, this is just blasphemy, I spit in your general direction. I dont care what anyone says, neither do the record books, John Stockton is the best pure point to EVER play the game.

Although, Magic Johnson was a better player. :D

How else are they going to furnish their abode? You want them to sit on the floor and not have a TV? Are you trying to keep them down and out? Why do you hate the poor so much?

They only that drives me crazy about Magic is the tape I have seen of him playing- he is a terrible, terrible, terrible defender. He would play 3 steps of a guy and they would still get by him.

Always liked Magic.

The way I saw the eighties was that most people were Jazz fans AND either Lakers or Celtics fans, as those were the two who would likely be squaring off in June. There were a lot of Celtics fans in Salt Lake due to the BYU players in Boston, but I liked the Lakers. Even in the 1987 Jazz-Lakers series there was no rivalry. I think it started after that because the Jazz gave notice that they were up and coming (and then didn't up and come for several years).

The rivalry REALLY started when Shaq went to the Lakers and they were anointed before they ever did anything and then more when Kobe came in and appeared entitled from the first day he entered a game.
