What's new

Ask Trey Burke.

If he said, "You know what, I'm not excited about spending time in the state of Salt Lake City because of all the Mormons who hate gays and marry all of their sisters but I'm excited to be in the NBA on a team that I'm going to get to play big minutes on from day one, and hopefully I'll be able to use that time to build a resume that I will land me a max contract on a team in a better city once I'm a FA." I'd be like, cool, this guy is going to play hard.

This is probably the best thread we've ever had on this website. I literally pissed myself a little from laughing so hard at all all of those "dumped when I'm most vulnerable" Jerry Springerisque reactions.

Wait...are you guys stupid?

They asked if he would like to play for Detroit, his hometown team, the team that he was a fan of growing up, and he said absolutely. He didn't say that he would rather play for Detroit than Utah, just that he would absolutely like to play for them. Nothing wrong with that.

he grew up in columbus, during lebrons rise to fame. he's more likely a cleveland fan.

Guys...calm down. Everything is going our way. We've got the young core, the draft picks, and we're tanking for an epic draft. Be happy. He said he'd like to play for them, and he's also said he already loves Utah and can see himself playing here his whole career. Or did we forget about that already?

I'm sure he is glad that he is in a great situation with the jazz, but obviously he's not just going to be like, "I really don't like utah and the jazz wasnt where I wanted to be." When asked what he thought about being traded.

Guys did you see this???

Hooooooly ****! He likes East African women but not Utah women?? This is it! I was already done with him since he did not dominate the summer league, but now I'm REALLY done with him!

No this good. We don't want more dudes soiling our women.

I'm sure he meant would he have been ok playing for the Pistons. Of course he would. That's probably where he expected to go.

I was all for CJ McCollum.

Instead, we have an undersized PG that is not a good athlete and only decent in other areas.

I say it again: the Jazz made a big mistake not drafting McCollum. You guys went nuts just because this kid is more of a pure point guard and has this special motor. All in all, I'd be surprised if he ends up being a starter in this league.

Self confidence is good but this kid should stop thinking of himself being Chris Paul. He has a lot of work to do before he gets more than 15 or 20 minutes per game. This kid is not ready and should stop talking about how he sees himself as a starter. Right now, I would even rather start Tinsley. I'm serious!

The Jazz took Hayward over George.
The Jazz took Burks over Leonard.

I can live with that. But how could the Jazz take Burke over McCollum? You can't teach size and athleticizm.

we know how

lindsey said a couple of times that corbin wanted him badly (apparently watching just some video, cause trey didn't had an workout with jazz), so they pushed for him

we know also that lindsey wanted kelly olynyk at 14th, the guy who they liked at workout

so it was basically corbin's choice
