Game Thread Aug 25, 2020: Jazz at Nuggets - Game 5

Added to Calendar: 08-25-20

ESPN is showing an injury report for this game and Jamal Murray is listed as OUT. Can anybody confirm that? It’s the first I’m hearing it.
TBH, I think it's a bug. Search twitter for it, and a couple of people had asked about the same thing, with no response, and no words from any official sources. Also, ESPN has no reason for him being out listed (Seth Curry is also listed as OUT for Mavs, with no reason either, btw).

We were an 8 second violation away from this thread not happening.

8 second violation. Or boxing out Jokic so he couldn't get that offensive rebound before he got fouled. Or gotten the call when Murray went backcourt. Or switched to O'Neale at some point to give Murray more trouble.

But hey, keep blaming one play.....

I think you’ve read a little too much into it.

We are up 3-1 and Don had 57 in that game. I choose to be positive and dwell on the good in the world. Harping on that 8 second call is such a modern day negativity move. We can be better than that.

Again, I’m not certain where you’re pulling any of that from my fairly brief statement.

What does Harpring have to do with it?

Your statement was stating or at least implying that we win that game if it wasn't for the 8 second violation. So you blamed the loss on that one play. If that was the last possession of the game, sure I would concede it. However, it wasn't, we battled, and we lost in overtime.

But we would have won without that. That is, however, not the same as saying it’s the only way we could have won. That’s the part you’re inferring.

HH did say it was like reality TV.
that is how Tony Jones pitched it on his pod... not sure if true... kinda dumb if it is. I would imagine they have to book flights and stuff... I just like the invitation home... if things get hard its easy to say fine lets call this ****.

Stop being reasonable. I like the thought of the Sixers, for instance, being rushed out of the gym in their playing garb and unceremoniously dumped in the Disneyworld parking lot with their luggage and a quarter for the payphone after they lose. Guy with mouse ears singing "Zippity-Doo-Dah" as he chucks their luggage from the tram!

This imagery makes me feel cheated. Really wish it could’ve happened to Kyrie and Durant. Really looking forward to Harden’s date, though.

I watch MTV's The Challenge... I have since my college days... I just can't quit it. They have to pack their bags and immediately after TJ Lavin will tell them this ends your time on the show. I'd like Adam Silver to great them at halfcourt... tell them they killed it or they need to pick it up next time then immediately send them to a taxi in front of everyone.

That's not true. With a minute or so left, we turned the ball over on an already shortened shot clock. Sure, it we hit a 3 up by 3, the game is likely over with us up by 6 with 40 seconds left. However, there is no guarantee we score on that possession which means there is no guarantee that play cost us the game.

Like I said before - I would agree with you if it was the last possession. However, it wasn't and all Murray did after the turnover was tie the game. He didn't win it.

Still listed as OUT with no explanation. Harris is questionable. I would expect both to play, really.

LOL - if you ever want a laugh, read up on the end of the NFL player's strike in 1987 when the league decided to use replacement players. The strike ended on Friday which wasn't enough time to get all the real players back in uniform so the replacement players had to play one more week. Immediately after the games that Sunday, replacement players were ushered out to the parking lot, some teams wouldn't even let the players shower. Others were frisked or had their bags checked at the door by security and told if they'd like to keep their uniforms they'd have to pay for it.
