What's new

August 20:Big Match Turkey&Germany-Enes Kanter&Dirk Nowitzki match is starting now:) live Link here

I guess we will see what happens when Turkey plays Lithuania in September.

now you are talking, but still jonas has the advantage of playing for the last year and half.thats what we been trying to say.he is good or better right now,but when enes goes back to being old enes, when he gets that playing time he lost for year and half, dont stand anywhere near him,u will get hurt

Enes was literally a kid in u18 tourney where he dominated Jonas when played against eachother and he was the mvp of the tournament if im not mistaking. He was 16 in u18 tourney while Jonas is 19 in u19 tourney, there is much difference between. You should find the numbers of Jonas in the same u18 tourney 3 yrs ago.
.

In 2009 Euro U19 Kanter had 18.6/16.4/1.8blk Jonas had 19.3/10.6/2.6blk And they both were same age. So Kanter dominated rebounding, but Jonas scored more and had more blocks.

I watched games vs Ukraine, Greece and two games vs Germany, although last game I saw only half.

he was very bad in first 3 games but he was better in the last 3, and his best performance was against germany. Anyway they arent impressive performance just like JV's friendly game performances.

Also according to your stats, Kanter dominated really badly in rebounds, 6 rpg more, while JV is slightly better in scoring and blocking. Btw if JV can grab 10 in that tournament, he will probably grab no more than 7-8 in nba. He doesnt seem to be a very good rebounder to me, not from the stats but what i have seen from him so far. Rebounding is a very important side of game. He wont find those easy buckets, easy shots, easy rebounds in nba that he had in the recent u19 tourney

Neither you nor me have crystal ball so it is impossible to predict what stats Jonas or Kanter will have in NBA. But Jonas is taller, has longer wingspan and better standing reach, plus he must still be growing - that alone should make him good bet to rebound effectively in NBA and when he adds another 15-20lbs I have no doubt he wil be 10reb/game center. Rebounding is about effort and 7 footer with great effort and wingspan should rebound well. 16reb in recent game vs Russia is good indicator what can happen.

Jonas must add to many pounds to be as half tough as Kanter.

So scoring 26pts and getting 11 reb ( vs Czech rep) in his debut for national senior team is not impressive?

calm down guys... let's compare JV and EK in three years, it's way to early now! btw, we picked EK and not JV, so it doesn't make sense to talk that much about a player who isn't on our roster, right? or do you guys want to talk about jose calderon and so on? there are enough raptors threads in the internet...

Again what defines toughness? Jonas is not backing down from contact, he plays and bangs inside the paint - thats what I call toughness. Boozer for example is soft as he is shying away from contact. Another example - J.Stockton or J.Hornacek where not very heavy or muscular but I would not call Kanter tougher then Stockton for example...to me it is not about pounds but about heart.

i'm quite an enes homer as well, but it's kind of childish to see all the JV and EK homers going against. we picked EK, so it doesn't make sense to talk about a player who isn't on our current roster.

I am very calm:)... I think we not talking about Calderon as there was no chance of him playing for the Jazz. While instead on Kanter Jazz could have drafted JV, or Vesely, or Biyombo, or Knight.. so why not discuss how other players are doing and compare them to Kanter? To bad there is not much other basketball going on, I wish we would have summer league, but we are stuck to these friendlies and Eurobasket2011 for now. We had never ending debates about Lopez vs Parker/Arenas and Williams vs Paul for years after drafts...

People say this all the time and I get such a kick out of it. This isn't a language thing, by the way, everyone does it.

all lithuanians(akmvp or Lapas) has enes-complex because of Jonas(how he was beaten by enes on u-16 and u-18 eurochampionship) what they basicly do is,they search any type of utah jazz forum on internet, than they join in and trash talk about enes.

they will be gone as soon as Rytas(jonas's team) starts playing in euroleague
