Avery Bradley in the off season?

Jazz need to capitalize on DM's rookie year and shoot a little higher. I'm hearing the magic may not match an offer sheet for Gordon

We don’t have cap spac for that and the moves required are fairly drastic to get to a point to make that offer... you make those moves and then they match and you are cooked.

Maybe they see the writing on the wall for what type of offer he could get and we negotiate a sign and trade giving them a first in 2019 or something of that sort plus our non-guaranteed contracts and AB to make salaries work.

I think Dallas offers AG the Otto Porter special and Orlando reluctantly matches. Losing him for nothing would be rough.

How far under the cap will the jazz be?

Most likely we won't be. Exum has a $15M cap hold and I am assuming we bring back most of the unguaranteed guys. To get under the cap enough to try and sign AG you need to:

- Trade AB or Rubio with no salary returning. AB will cost you assets... don't let other Jazzfanz fool you.
- Waive all of the unguaranteed guys.
- Waive Favs Bird Rights
- Waive Exums RFA rights or sign him to a deal that starts around $6.5M

All of these things need to happen prior to sending an offer sheet... which can just be matched.

We've already got an AB. We also have a Bradley. Even Jazzfanz has its own Avery.

An alternative here is if Dante looks awful we could rescind his rights stretch AB and waive the unguaranteed guys (could still keep Udoh) to get enough space to sign AG to the max.

I'm not sure he is worth the max and he is young enough I think someone offers it. Not sure there is a lot of value in this path.

I like the idea of Mirotic at $12.5 + whatever he gets in 2019 a hell of a lot more than I like the possibility of gutting the team to possibly offer AG a max.

Yup AG the player is better in total imo, but the value of AG at the max is not great unless he gets much better and stays healthy.

I have a 5 stage FA plan I will lay out at some point. Stage/Option 1 is offering unguaranteeds and a second for Niko.

Honestly, add Dante back to the mix do well in the draft and then hunt for value and bargains. We don't need a huge move at this point. Get a great look at what we have and then go for a bigger piece in 2019 when we don't have so many variables involved to create space.

Don't do anything major this off-season. Resign Exum for a good deal and Favors of he wants to come back and is around 13-15 per year. Then sign a few guys on 1 year deals with team options. Make sure you have money in 2019 for a big name FA and go after Kawhi, Thompson, Butler, etc... Can always go get a mirotic or even possibly Milsap if you can't lure in a max type player.

With Rubio, Burks, thabo, Udoh, Jerebko all coming off deals Jazz will have around 40 million coming off the books.

37 year old Millsap would be ****ing exciting as hell!
