Avery Bradley traded to Detroit -- a warning for Jordan Heywood

Not unless they are protected or second rounders, and I don't see Ainge doing that. I really do think Crowder would be a good addition at the right price, but my gut feeling is it doesn't happen.

I really like Crowder. I would actually be willing to give up some assets for him because I do think he fits the culture of this Jazz team and would take the sting of Heywood leaving away.

The problem is the Jazz dont have many assets that make sense. You aren't giving up picks in a conference where you could possibly finish in the bottom 3 of if one bad injury happens.

You also probably arent giving up any of the young guys because that is what makes the fans still have hope in this team.

I am surprised he doesn't want the 5th year. Because this is the only contract he will have with the Celts and if he wants to spoon with Brad Stevens as long as possible, he should go for a 5 year contract. Maybe him and Brad Stevens have this little dream that they will be, like, two princes who are on the same team and when Danny Ainge throws them both on the scrap heap they can go to Indiana and be hometown heroes or something stupid.

Pretty sure the 5th year has now been eliminated through Sign and Trades. It's only available to players who remain with their teams.

Agree. There's a good chance all WC playoff teams win 50 games. That's happened a few times in recent history. The Jazz could win 45 and miss. Then Silver needs to do a solid like what happened with Cleveland a few times and have Utah win the lottery.

I don't think they take them to 6. No way no how. Isiah Thomas is already have HIP issues... his speed is his M-O and he will be losing it. Then you lost a lock down defender in Bradley, a stretch backup C in t-rex arms. I just don't think the Celts made a positive change this offseason. It is awesome.

It doesnt even need surgery. You sound like you are hoping he has more hip issues than knowing anything.

For every player they lost, you can argue they added a better player.

That is true, I agree. But I am really willing to give up assets if he had anything worthwhile. Maybe some second round picks in the future. I just don't know how valuable Crowder still is for them. I have heard they may try and make Crowder a PF.

... I wonder how the Celtics locker room will feel about losing Bradley. Crowder is already pissed. How many other Celtics players will be resentful of the GH signing? Rivers took heat for signing his son. Will Stevens take heat for signing his little brother?

Wins will answer that. If they roll through the (L)East then nobody cares. If they don't get the #1 seed again though, resentment.

Plus I think once he becomes a 10-year veteran, he can get an even BIGGER max deal so I think the deal he's signing is a three-year with a fourth-year out to do that.

Thanks for the info! But it seems to me that once he begins losing his athleticism, he may be in a position to not get a max at 30.

2nd round picks for a starter on a 50+ win playoff team on one of the NBA's top value contracts that has 3 years left?

So Crowder is deeper on the bench with the addition of Morris? Now he doesn't even get minutes at the PF spot..

Yeah, like I said, if we had anything worth offering. But look at the Celtics incoming draft picks from other teams. They have first rounders for days. I don't think Ainge even wants more first round picks. I think he would rather just keep Crowder. I am surprised they traded Bradley and not Crowder though, since Bradley played more at a need position and has to clean up IT's defensive missteps.
