Awards show on TNT Monday June 25 9pm ET Discussion

This, Mitchell carried a much bigger load leading the Jazz to the semifinals in a much more competitive conference. You can’t say Mitchell doesn’t deserve ROY with a straight face. If anything it should have been awarded to both players.

Everyone already knows that Mitchell was the better player and rookie after the playoffs. Even the NBA players themselves acknowledged that too. Which is why the media and the NBA itself was giving Mitchell much love now.

Ben Simmons should have a better fg percentage when you don't shoot one 3 pt., rebounds -he is 6'10" and DM is barely 6'3", assists Simmons was their PG/F so he ran the offense so again he should have more assist. Utah offense is not set up to have one guy dominate the assists.
DM was clutch going down the stretch. He was the man and everyone knew he was going to take the last shot. San Antonio, New Orleans he hit big shots. Against OKC in the playoffs he took over games and hit big shots.

Destroying him in two of the three main stat categories and FG% probably helped...

You guys are so weird about this stuff. Lol.

Easy to have a higher FG% when you only attempted 11 threes all year (made 0).

They have almost identical TS% and Mitchell averaged more points.

Okay. Yea there is a case to be made for Mitchell. It’d be cool if he won. But not understanding why Simmons won and acting like it is some crazy unfair thing is just burying your head in the sand and ignoring everything so you can feel slighted on behalf of someone else.

I've just realized these awards are ********. Donovan and Quin clearly should have won.

These awards are totally ****, this is where you see the bias from the eastcoast and from bigmarket franchises IMO. I realized this in my early teenage years, in all sports these writers vote things are a sham.

Rudy should be the 3 time defending DPOY. Anyone who says otherwise is a damn fool. If he'd have done what he did in a big market.... He'd have 3 dpoys....

Westbrook winning the MVP over HArden last year was dumb too. The list of errors is too long for me to get into. Is Valuable truly the operative word here? should it be? I thought OKC's team 2 seasons ago was mediocre and the Rockets were much better and Harden had the crazy ppg and assist #'s, it was a no-brainer.

Truth be told, there shouldn't be another MVP besides LeBron as long as he is playing the game. He carried the Cav's the entire season (and for the entire time he's been there) and into the finals. He is the ultimate basketball player, with athleticism, heart and passion to be such.
