Im not writing off Favors offensive game until he is about 25 and it still looks the same. I want to see him get more time first. There have been games where he has played very well offensively but we just bench is ***. Those are growing moments that we are passing up. If he could be allowed to go off for 30 it could give him a lot of confidence.

The biggest thing Favors needs for his points to go up is for him to be used correctly. Get a pick n roll PG, and stop forcing him to play like Al. Favors should be used in a way along the lines of Amare Stoudemire, yet we force him to play like Al Jefferson. I can't think of two more disimilar big men.

Favors is horrible in the pnr. He can't move with the ball anywhere close to how Stoudemire used to. That's why he barrels over so many defenders for easy foul calls. He's not aware enough to run pnr. He'll get better, my doubts lie in how much.

Plays designed to get him open jumpers, some baseline post ups, screen lobs, high-to low catch and do something immediately action, free throw line passing combined with plays that clear the lane for him, that's what I want to see.

Horrible in the pick n roll? I wouldn't go that far. He has certainly shown flashes in P&R. I think he needs to improve, yes, and that'll happen through practicing it, instead of practicing Al's post moves. The point is that his physical tools would be put to better use in the pick n roll and the situations you described, and that's what the coaching staff should be trying to highlight from his game. Isn't that what a coach is supposed to do? Amplify your players' strengths and minimize their weaknesses? I don't feel like I'm seeing that, and thus, don't feel inclined to put all the blame on Favors when he has a sub par scoring performance.

Armchair coaching is a copout and saying all he needs to shine is a better player to facilitate is hardly a ringing endorsement.

Many of his plays come from something of a pinch post position, don't see how you could miss that. Taking additional and complementary low post moves out of his repertoire and molding a limited player would be a dumb waste and stupid way to design an offense. Corbin is using him in a variety of ways, just as he should.

His potential in the P&R is way higher than it is post up opportunities, imo.

I never said he shouldn't be used in those ways, I'm saying he should be used in some ways more than others.

So according to franklin: burks sucks, kwame kanter, dick hayward is alot like herpes, and favors is just horrible in the pick and roll..... gotcha

And kudos to corbin!... keep up the good work corbin

One thing I'll give him is a half a step has often been the difference in getting to the line or turning it over. 1/2 step improvement should come.

Gotcha. Corbin uses him a lot out of the two high post set and can't really run pnr with anyone. He must see what you see.

Reading comprehension puts you and green in a class by yourselves.

My reading skills are fine.... more likely that your memory of the stupid **** you say is just lacking, or maybe you just are unable to own up to the stupid **** you say.
Remember your kwame brown avatar? I do.

Glad to have such a big stalker. I don't get the hate & trolling but whatever. I like your contributions other than that.

I tried to rep as a thank you, but I've given out too much today.
I think I need to do the same.

I agree with that 15/11 goal. Even at 14/8, he'd be a force...if Kanter is the one putting up 18/10. I see progress in Favors' game. Not as much as we all had hoped for, but you can see he's developing some moves. At times he looks like a baby giraffe: he just can't put everything together quite yet. Main thing is he needs playing time and needs to learn how to stay in the games vs. getting in quick foul trouble.

Yeah, Favors has improved, but obviously not to the degree Kanter has. I said a year ago that Favors wouldn't begin to look consistent till year 4, and Kanter would be year 3. I stand by that, but will add that Favors will look like a legitimate All-Star in year 5, Kanter in year 4. The 2014-15 season is the one I'm looking forward to.

Edit: I think Hayward will be playing on an All-Star level next season. 17/4/4 is well within his range right now.

Spycam, i think you might be the only person who believes in the core4 more than i do..... i think this group is something special and they all fit together perfectly and complimentary of each other

Favors is superman. He can fly.

Kanter is batman.
He has a toolbelt?

Hayward is captain America
He is a dorky white dude.

Burks is Spider-Man.
Yep.

Demarre is robin.
Good role player.

Avengers league of justice?

I'd say Carroll is Batman because he does so much without any super powers.

Except I don't get it, Carroll doesn't have any limitations that I am aware of (no offset broken bones in his arm, not missing the tenons in his knee) and he has enough speed and athleticism, so as far as I can tell there is nothing holding him back from being a solid player if not a starter in the NBA. Am I missing something? What is there that he can't do now that he couldn't learn with hard work? (which he seems to have; work ethic)
