and their tails tickle ya in certain spots.

some great mormon swear words.

donkeybutt, Oh shucks, oh my goodness, fudge, holy moses, flippin A

learn them now, you'll be set.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't mind organizing another pick up game with members from Jazzfanz. The thing is, I can never get one going. Who's down to clown errr ball with me?

Colorado, did you just recently move to the area? When I lived in Utah, we used to play pick-up games at Sugarhouse Park. When I was in high school, I used to head over to the park at about 4:30 or so and shoot the ball and goof around. Between 5 and 6 o'clock, or thereabouts, a bunch of other people would slowly fill up the courts, and by 7 or so, there were full-blown pick-up games going on. Lots of fun times. I bet there are games going on at Liberty Park, too -- but I'm not too sure about that. It just seems like it makes sense.

Salt Lake can be a pretty 420 friendly place. Just keep an eye out. There's definitely a subculture going on. Stay away from the police, though; it's not the kind of place where they'll have you stub out a joint and send you on your way. I've had friends charged with possession of drug paraphernalia just for having glass pipes in their cars. There used to be some cool head shops in the Sugarhouse area. What was that one place called.... Wizards and....Dreams? Something like that? Anybody know if it's still there?

i play at my work during the week. its really nice to have a basketball court there. as for 420 friendly, you find the right crowd, and you'll be set.

oh, and wizards and dreams isn't in sugarhouse anymore, its on state st and like 2000 S or something like that. there is a much better head shop that i go to instead though called borosyndicate. that place is sweet...

Some of the best pick up games I ever played was at the Deseret Gym in downtown SLC. Not sure if it is still a good place to go, but there were some pretty decent players there when I last played.

Gave a guy a concussion tonight. I got up first, so I won. He had to leave. I was able to stay. It's the price you pay when you know exactly what move he's doing.

Deseret Gym hasn't existed in years. It's now the Conference Center.

That's sad news indeed. I used to love playing hoops there. :(

I used to play there in junior high - early high school years. I think the last time it was open was about 15 years ago. Great reference though - b-ball, swimming and some red cream soda from the vending machine - good times.
