Beer Culture

I used to drink like a fish. Southern Comfort, Johnny Walker, Yeager

Now I'm mostly a beer guy. My hard days are mostly behind me. (My promise no longer binds me)

Dude, don't drink with bears, its ****ing dangerous.

On topic. Never gone thru a brewery and not interested in doing so. On a commercial scale at least. I'd be interested in some homegrown stuff though.

Started eating paleo.

I'm sure I'll still drink beers from time to time, but def not everyday or like 17 at once.

I'm diggin wine for sure, but I'm going camping and floating the provo this weekend and I'm like "wtf am I really gonna drink wine floating down a river??"

Remember.. pinky up.

I got out of my promise! I've been in a Blue Moon kick lately.

Probably the Blue Moon.

So I probably did the math all wrong, but if 62% of the population in Utah are mormon (according to the last census), and assume that the 2% still drink beer anyway, so 60% of the state does not drink beer. So 40% of the state accounts for the 20.2 gallons per capita. That means that the 40% drinks around 50 gallons of beer annually per capita. Well over the 45.8 gallons consumed in North Dakota.

Utah wins!!

not to rain on your parade.. but is it fair to assume 100% of the population of North Dakota drinks alcohol?

.. wait.. it probably is.

Well, yeah.

But what I mean is it is fair to assume that any of the population of North Dakota has an equal chance of drinking beer as anyone else. Really only in a place like Utah can you safely assume that a measurable proportion is far less likely to drink beer than other places where that proportion is not so overwhelming. You could go as far I guess as to limit the muslim and baptist (or southern christian if you prefer) and mormon populations everywhere, but in North Dakota or anywhere really other than the southern states perhaps, and utah that proportion is probably small enough to not make a large impact on the overall number. At least not large enough to be able to make such an assumption reasonably, as in Utah.

I agree with the premise but not the math philosophy.
Get it right, son.

The math is right. Stop drinking so much beer so you can understand that.
