What are your thoughts on Beno Udrih?

He's demonstrated that he can be a capable starting PG (recently as evidenced when Jameer Nelson went down near the end of last season).

He's not overly quick, but he's solid.

I'm pretty sure he'd be OK with starting at the beginning of the season knowing full well that Trey Burke will be handed the gig sometime during the season.

Thoughts?

I really like him. Can shoot and pass the ball. Not the best defender and not that quick bu I'd love to see him and Burke each get 20-25 minutes per game. It might make sense to start him over Burke. We should try to sign him on a 3 year and 9 million deal, the maximum would be 10.5 million with a player option in his last year to make it more attractive for him. Arguably the best FA PG that is left on the market.

I'm actually quite surprised there hasn't been rumors linking Udrih to us.

I always thought he was a Jazz-type player... I remember when he came into the league they were calling him a "poor man's John Stockton".

He was on my fantasy team-- he's actually pretty good. He racked up quite a few assists.

I'd actually love him as a backup.

I had him too... Udrih pushed my team to the title series. No one else trusted Udrih when Nelson went down. Something to be said when a guy will be handed 40 minutes a game. Anyone will produce fantasy-wise if given that many minutes.

He is too good to tank....beno > lucus

I agree....................What are you people thinking? Don't go tying up money with the great free agent class of 2014 coming. It is time to go with the youth and maybe get a great pick in 2014. The Jazz must find out what the youth on this team are capable of over a whole season. Can they play with injuries ala Stockton and Malone? Can they keep their focus over an entire season? What I am hearing about Kantor worries me some. How will the chemistry be between them thru the hard knocks that will come their way as they fight to gain the experience needed? Who proves they are worth big contracts by putting up the numbers, accepting their roles and hitting the clutch shots? Which players prove to be team players? Can Kantor and Favors bring out the best in each other, or does Stifle Tower make a better fit with one of them? Who do we want to keep on the team going forward based on this season, and who do we decide can be used as trade bait or to move up in next years draft? Give a point guard left without a contract at this late stage of free agency a 3 year contract for 9 or 10 million. Sometimes some of you people give me a head ache. LOL

They will wait til next year to spend on free agents they actually want/need. I for one agree with that strategy.
Bring on the Tank!
