Out of that List I've only been to Chicago and Seattle.

Both are awesome, I'd go with Chicago.

PS...

Houston?? WTF

"Best" is such a highly broad term. To live? Visit a few days?

I've had a blast in everyone of these cities, but only a few would I care to be there for more than a couple weeks at a time.

NYC - Awesome
LA - Awesome
Chicago - almost awesome
Boston - I really like it .. but I don't think most Utah folks would.
Houston is maybe last for me, but it's got some cool stuff
D.C. doesn't do it for me other than a few very cool spots, but otherwise a meh.
Seattle is a way cool town
San Fran is cool but overrated, imo.
San Diego weather is awesome, otherwise predictable.
Laugh if you guys want, but Nashville is a killer town. (in a good way)

I've heard Pitt's a really cool city...not saying it's the best but...

Really a lot of places are what you make them. If you're with fun people and people you like you're much more likely to think a city is really cool. Having fun anywhere is completely up to you.

And seriously, most places have a lot of the same stuff. There are hot spots for certain things, like San Diego being a craft beer wonderland, or Austin having tons of live music, good BBQ and tons of bars on 6th Street that are packed Thurs-Sun with tons of stuff going on in the street.

If you think a city is lame you were probably just doing it wrong.

Amen.

I have lived in 17 states, 5 countries, and visited just about every major city in the U.S. multiple times and I have loved it everywhere .. except one city.

It's an obvious overstatement to say having fun is completely up to you. But, yeah, you've got to have good people. ...you're more likely to find those people in certain cities, so, round n round we go. Blandiego.

So, of the list, what's your top3?

If I were choosing based on places I'd live:
1. LA
2. SF/Oakland/Berkeley
3. Chicago

I really like NYC, but I can't imagine living there for longer than a year or two.

Good list. I was pleasantly surprised to see Miami not listed. I've lived there twice and it was okay, but way overrated imo .. try an hour south, though, heaven.
