Best Christmas movie ever?

That, Home Alone 2, and Mickey's Christmas Carol are mine.

Well, I think there are some classic picks, besides Die Hard and Home Alone. I just watched The Christmas Cottage. It'll never be all that popular because it moves a bit slow, and has a dark feel most of way, and requires some intelligence to understand, and has a point about Art, or maybe Life, not particularly about Santa, or Jesus. But taken as a whole, I found it better than anything I've seen recently. . . . and yah, it was a Netflix thing and I have no idea when it was made, except it was set in the late seventies maybe, or early eighties I'd guess.

As long as we only count actual Christmas movies (theme revolves around Christmas) and not movies with a Christmas setting (Die hard), then A Christmas Story by a long shot.

whats the difference. these days x-mas is more about santa clause, presents and other shenanigans. than actual Jesus and christian stuff.
so "die hard" "Home alone" and others are as much x-massy then "a christmas story" "scrooged" and a "christmas carol".

Um, okay. You obviously haven't been following that religion thread. But I'm not talking about whether they are Jesus-approved or not. There are Christmas movies that can be considered as such per their theme. They are most and foremost about Christmas. There are other movies that are about something else entirely, but are set on Christmas for style. If we're talking about the former, then A Christmas Story is best, If we're talking about the latter, then I'll go with Die Hard. I don't know which I like better, since they are very different.

sorry.

Elf was great, Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic... and yet for me (as with many others here) the clear answer is A Christmas Story. I love everything about that movie.
