Best Places to See a Jazz Road Game

It won't happen anytime soon as I have young children who would not do well going to a basketball game, but someday I would love to go to a Jazz road game. So whether you've been to one or haven't, what would you say the your top choices would be? Use any criteria you want, whether it relates to the team, the arena's environment, or other stuff to do in the area besides just go to a game. I'll come up with my own list in a bit.

Been to a game at Staples (Lakers) and the United Center and both places were really cool. Staples is like the casino of arenas. There are some really nice displays throughout and was worth getting there an hour early just to walk around. The United Center was cool, just not as flashy. The biggest thing is that we were visiting fans, but no one harassed us. Granted we aren't annoying fans waving Jazz jerseys in their faces, but we cheered for our team and would shout a bit at certain plays/calls throughout and it was just a good experience.

Since I live in Colo Springs, I will be trying the Pepsi center this year. Makes it that much better that I HATE the Nuggets, so hope it goes well.

Saw a Jazz game in Portland.

We lost.

Deron Williams made a half-court shot at the halftime buzzer, but I happened to not be looking at the court.

Portland scored 100 points, so I got a free chalupa... but I lost the coupon.

Seriously, everything went wrong for me in that game.

I've seen them at Sacramento and Oakland as well as what was then the Delta Center. I haven't seen them play at the Oracle since they built the new one, so I'll try that this year.

Back during the Weber/Bibby days the Arco Arena was crazy loud, and during those days Golden State wasn't too good so it was quieter. Now I hear that the Oracle really rocks so I'll see.

I've been to at least 5 games in Houston, we won everyone. I went to the New Orleans Hornets franchise opener. Both were pretty good. I would imagine the Hornets will be a good venue again with the addition of Davis.

I've only been to MSG and Staples.

I was at MSG(NYC) twice just as the Lin hype was starting to explode back in February. Jazz game and then a Laker game and they were both rocking. But that of course is not an every game thing. Every other time I've been in MSG it has been an average experience.

And Dip nailed Staples. The arena almost outshines the ball. But does that make it a good experience? I don't know. Hollywood hand sitters and the like.

I think the answer is just against whatever team is hot at the moment. The so called meccas of basketball don't really have the glory that they used to. Wherever the home fans are going to be into the game is where you want to be.

Best place to see a Jazz road game:
On the sofa in front of a 50" plasma.

I won't pay the astronomical prices to sit in the lower level. And I'm not going to sit in the rafters where you can't really see the action.

Not that this was about the arena per se but Bill Simmons thought Portland had the best home court advantage in the league and that we had the second best... think he wrote that about two or three years ago.

Went to a playoff game against Denver in the early 90s. Nosebleeds.

Brooooooooklyn!

You bet your Sloan-lovin' asses I'm going to the first Brooklyn Nets vs my UTAH JAZZ

Any ideas when it might be? When do we normally come out east? IIRC around Thxgiving, before Christmas?

Cool thing about Staples is the pre-game. A white cylindrical tarp drops down from scoreboard over center court and they play movies on it. But my experience was LA fans did not appreciate my cheering for the Jazz, and especially not my glee at Kobe's rare 2-97 performance in this year's game.

Hard to beat New Orleans. Even if you don`t drink or party much just walking around the French Quarter area is a real treat. Lots of really cool hotels as well.

Show up around Mardi Gras and they have parades on the court at halftime.

The atmosphere in DC sucks but 1 the nice thing is the Wizards always suck so it's pretty easy to get great seats close to the court/Jazz bench. Even when they were sold out w/Jordan it wasn't dififcult, and there's always a moderate number of Jazz fans who usually show up.

And as an added bonus, the Hornets wear their Mardi Gras uniforms.
