What's new

Best Wishes...see ya!

IT isnt that much of a ball hog. They move the ball really well in Boston. IT isnt even in the top 10 of possession time.

I'm looking at the usage rate and Isaiah Thomas is #5 behind Westbrook, Cousins, DeRozan and Harden (for players playing 40+ games) in 2017.

While I hate your stinking guts, ijazz, I'd prefer you stick around.

But if not, fair winds and following seas to you.

Hopefully gale winds and mighty squalls to Hayward and the Celtics. Would like to see that ship smashed up against the rocks.

Lets see...

A 29 year-old 5'8" shoot-first PG with a bad hip. Okay.
A 32 year-old Al Horford who averaged 4 or 5 rebounds in the Playoffs.
A prime Gordon Hayward.
Jae Crowder.
A couple of young players that might make the Celtics the 3rd best team in the EC in a few years.

Yeah, I'm not seeing a contender here. I'm seeing a team that's probably comparable to Portland, tbh.

Yup. If they could've landed Butler or George, that'd be another story.

Losing IJizz reminds me of when we lost Kanter. Addition by subtraction. Less fair weather time means more quality time for the Goberts of Jazzfanz to rise!

Jazzfanz is stronger for this.

If IT can't put up close to the same kind of season he had last year, the Celtics might actually take a step backwards. So much of their success really depends on IT being healthy and explosive and drawing defenders to create space for everyone else. Hayward will help, but he won't often draw a double-team on his own, and more often than not, he needs other players to help create space for him. A year from now, the Celtics will either lose their near-term cap flexibility to re-sign Thomas, or they'll lose him to another team that's more willing to pay him. Then where are they?

A lot is being predicated on the idea that Ainge can flip his depreciating trade assets for a superstar that wants to move. This year was their best opportunity to do it--when they had the #1 pick in a good draft and players like Butler and George were moving. Instead, he parlayed the #1 pick into probably the 4th or 5th best player in the draft. He's likely at this point to just play the long game and draft another young player who will start having an impact when Hayward is entering the final year or two of his deal.

If Ainge can't make that killer trade in the next year or two, the Celtics never really become a contender during Hayward's current contract.

People in Boston think their dead legends will be the hidden force that leads the Celtics to a championship.

So are we rooting for the Lakers this year? Boston has their pick, right?

Wow that guy trolled the whole board with one post. Awesome.

Yes, goodbye Robyn.
We ain't gonna miss your husband. Please tell him to come out the closet, though. I know you have suspected for the last year. You deserve to have it confirmed about him and Brad. There's nothing to be ashamed of. He'll be a true hero just like John Amaechi and Jason Collins.

And think of the book deal! You and Gordon are already published authors. I have no doubt you are Gordon's ghostwriter.

Here's a swell idea: post a picture of the kids in rainbow colored clothing. It will allow his followers to come to terms with it before you announce it publicly.

Not to mention the ball hog Isaiah Thomas taking all the shots and passing to Hayward only when he can't score making Hayward a spot-up shooter, something he isn't all that great at.

I'll laugh so hard when 1 day Jayson Tatum surpasses Hayward and they're forced to let him walk or trade him.

Hayward was a pretty good catch and shoot guy last year.

And he'll get the ball plenty. Stevens is a great coach.

The idea that Hayward won't succeed in Boston is silly. Boston won't win any championships, but Hayward will do just fine.

ijazz has put in a solid month of trolling during this Hayward saga. He's really going out on a high note. I won't miss him but I will applaud him for the work he has done.
