Basically this… it’s not like it’s the worst thing ever… the NAW trade was worse… but we sold ourselves short and it isn’t like we have an armory full of second round picks right now. Most experts think THT will opt in and his deal is likely a little negative… but even if he breaks out you’ll have to pay top of market rate to keep him. Just not a deal that provides upside.

I also think it could be step one in a two part laker deal. Break it into two deals to do it sooner… maybe.
I think it’s worse. NAW could theoretically improve and we have team control. Ingles was also a non-contributor with his injury. THT can leave if he improves and Beverley is a playoff starter which every team can use.
Still a positive given the direction we’re going, but it’s hard to feel like we found the best deal. We did the Lakers two favors by eating THT’s contract and also giving them a good player they very much needed.
