What's new

Bill Clinton is awesome

I'll put that honest milk next to the honest cookies the repubs baked up in their convention. Those are some honest fellers on that side of the aisle, eh?

Yep, you hit the nail on the head. I'm so glad you have seen the light.

"It depends on what the meaning of the words 'is' is." –Bill Clinton, during his 1998 grand jury testimony on the Monica Lewinsky affair

"It depends on how you define alone…" –Bill Clinton, in his grand jury testimony

"There were a lot of times when we were alone, but I never really thought we were." –Bill Clinton, in his grand jury testimony

"Politics gives guys so much power that they tend to behave badly around women. And I hope I never get into that." –Bill Clinton, to a woman friend while he was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford

"Being president is like running a cemetery: you've got a lot of people under you and nobody's listening." –Bill Clinton

"There are always going to be people who want to be president, and some days I'd like to give it to them." –Bill Clinton, in 1993

"I may not have been the greatest president, but I've had the most fun eight years." –Bill Clinton

Good stuff. How bad does it have to be to have people wanting Clinton back?

My hate for Clinton is well documented. His speech last night was full of garbage. But, not as full as Ryan's speech last week.

I'm actually not arguing that, or talking about the repubs.

I know you won't believe me because I seem to take the opposite side of about everything you post... but I really have no love for the republican party even if I tend to agree with more of their philosophies and policies than dems... and know many/most politicians are full of hot air. Go ahead and argue who's speech had more garbage, because it really doesn't matter.

When a President is elected it is more about the cabinet that is put in than it is about the actual president.

Clinton is very smooth and very smart. He'll also say anything necessary and do anything he pleases.
So the difference between him and about every other politician is he's smoother.

I've said for years, speaking to myself and all other rainmakers I do business with, if you have a gift oabcab and are highly effective with it, it comes with great responsibility. If you know you can convince about anyone of about anything, you owe it to everyone to do the right thing, be certain you're giving good advice. Be careful not to win just because you know you can.

I thought most of what Clinton says made a lot of sense. I don't see what his critics are talking about. So he fooled around, big deal, he governed the country better than those before or since. To me, the leadership he gives the country while thinking and speaking versus Obama is like night and day

I don't hate Clinton. He's a great speaker and a brilliant mind. I don't idolize the man because I think he's a moral empty suit. As far as his speech, there were really good points as well as a massive amount of spin.. That was necessary in order to make the speech powerful.

I've never hated Clinton myself.
In fact as a child, the Clinton/Gore administration was responsible for getting me "into" politics for the rest of my life.
Clinton has always been a great speaker, and that's why he was president for 8 years.

Well.... that and carpet bombing innocent civilians in Cambodia and Kosovo.

Of course..... there was always the wonderful NAFTA and GATT agreements that created free trade and sent big business to China and Mexico.

I think I'm also forgetting state land grabbing, that included the Grand Staircase Escalante Monument/Forest in the St. George area.

Carpet bombed Kosovo? Oh really?

*facepalm*

As a speaker he is second to none. Clinton is a hard thumping democrat with the body, voice, and mannerisms of a republican. He speaks, and connects to a broad base.

Clinton laid out exactly what is wrong with the right, and the most important factors moving forward. He hit a home run with his talk of coming together, and how the right is demonizing anyone who even dares respecting the president.
It's ridiculous, hurting the nation, and Clinton called them out for it.

The republican ideals of smaller government, and strong military hold merit. However, they are not valid in the hands of what the right has become. Hateful, extreme, and vindictive.
He gave the best speech of both conventions so far.

*facepalm*

*facepalm* all you want.

Everyone knows NATO was involved in the bombings of Kosovo, or just let it happen anyway.
The Clinton administration then also just let it happen, (for a period of time of course.)

Silencer has been near the bottom of posters on this site from the get-go, but has been working overtime to become the worst.

Funny how he blames the current financial situation on Bush and the Republicans when I believe it was his policies that started it all with the housing market crash....
