What's new

Billy Joel is an *******

This thing is do full of crap. It would take hours to debunk all of it. But the first step is going to be:

The worst song ever made is NOT "SUSSUDIO." Top 3 in order:

1. Pharrell Williams- "Happy"

2. Starship- "We Built This City on Rock and Roll"

3. Pick anything at random out of the Coldplay catalog.

The article started off by putting "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" in my head. Cruel and unusual punishment. Fortunately, doing a bowl right away nipped it in the bud, or I might have had "love in my tummy" for the rest of the night.

I sure hate that happy song. Also hate Coldplay. (And I want throw most of imagine dragons in the trash too).
I like we built this city.

2 of my most hated are Bohemian Rhapsody (bunch of made up words that amount to nonsense and way too much theatrics), and We Are The champions (way too repetitive)

I read somewhere that Jefferson Starship recorded "We Built This City" for the express hope/reason that they would license the song out to major cities and they wouldn't have to tour anymore.

Grace Slick was quoted as saying she hoped it would be her "retirement song"

Kind of cynical for a bunch of hippies.

Secondly, if we are going to identify the most whiny, self-important, diva musician, that list starts with THIS guy:

Here's some of my crappy poetry interrupted by a 12 minute organ solo. Let me tell you how hard I have it before overdosing.

In fairness to Mr. Billy Joel, there were a number of eclectic musical experiments in the 80s. Billy Joel was basically a slightly quirky piano-bar singer who wanted to be on Broadway. I'll pollute this thread with several 80s "classics."

Yeah but Hall and Oates were one of the very top selling and charting duos of all time, on both the pop and r&b charts. They are one of if not the top duos of all time.

Disclaimer: H&O are one of my favorite bands ever.

"Man Eater" though? Really? I guess it shows the era.

Hell's Bells by AC/DC works pretty well.
Maybe a little too on-the-nose, but if you're going AC/DC, "let me put my love into you" gets the job done.
