Just got done watching Bandersnatch by Black mirror on Netflix. I really enjoyed it. Fun twists and turns and during choices to make. I think we got about 2/3 of the possible endings. I don't want to give anything away so I won't go into much detail, but it's definitely fun escapist fare. I recommend it.

About a week ago I was lamenting to my wife that they haven't made a new season of black mirror yet, then they drop this choose your own adventure thing. Sounds interesting. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. We might watch it in the next day or two. My sister and niece are staying with us so we'll probably watch it together.

Interesting experiment, and I hope they do more of them. But the episode itself was a pretentious mess. Went back and saw all the options afterwards. It's a cool idea. Wish they had a real story, as opposed to making it all meta and filling it with half-assed discussion on free will.

I enjoyed the 4th wall breaks personally. We watched it simultaneously with my daughter and her husband (on their computer in Provo) and my son and his friends (on their computer in Layton) with us here in Cali. We Skyped during off and on and it was fun to see the different choices we each made see how it changed the story. Yeah it isn't any prize winning cinematic masterpiece but it is a lot of fun. I'd be very happy if they continued with other shows in this vein.

So what kind of drinking game potential does it have?

Kidding, but I was thinking of incorporating a fun voting for the choice type thing.

You have to make the choices fairly quickly. But it could have some drinking game potential.

Watched it tonight. Three adults, that's counting my wife, so really my sister, me and my wife. However many adults that is.

It was fun, but I wouldn't say it was good.

They told maybe 1/3 of an actual story. I mean, you can play it many different ways, but no matter how you play it you still only get about 1/3 of an actual story.

It was kind of annoying that it pushed you back through to certain decision points after you were done. There may have been more to that than I realized, but eventually we stopped.

I love it as a concept and hope there is more of this type of thing soon.

I feel exactly the same.

I watched the first 3-4 BM eps a year or two ago. British pig one. Guy from Get Out biking/porn one. Etc.

They all felt like they tried too hard but in the end were just pretentious.

Some episodes are very creative. Some are as you describe. But I enjoy the show overall. Check out the episode San Junipero from season 3. Probably my favorite.

Will do. I think there’s one with Jon Hamm. Any good?
